whatever happened to that guy?

Yes, Firstnten I think he moved on and just disappeared.  There are so many old timers over the years that just disappeared.  There was so much involved with him and others... it is so OMG and esoteric.  I think Rik (maybe Jranieli or Randolph being moderators) would know a lot more.  Maybe we need a brief synopsis again.

Surprised he isn't seen as a higher prospect.

His college stats are up there.

it’s early,  scouts have said none of their scouting reports are complete, plus combine and workouts.   Dudes will rise and fall a ton still.

QB Corner: A final look at Shedeur Sanders' Weighted On-Target Percentage profile

Shedeur Sanders throws the best deep ball in the class by a wide margin. His pinpoint accuracy down the field is a massive draw to his game as a passer. On 44 attempts in 2024, Sanders was on-target on 29 of them. That put his deep ball percentage at nearly 66 percent.

Only Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye had a more accurate deep ball in last year’s class, and nobody from the 2023 class was a more on-target passer on footballs of 25 yards or more. No quarterback gives his receivers a chance at creating an explosive play down the field than Sanders.

Throwing the football outside the numbers has yielded similar success for Sanders. Also best in the class throwing footballs along the boundary, Sanders has hit the mark on over 75 percent of his passes (34-of-45) in 2024. J.J. McCarthy was the only quarterback with a higher on-target percentage at that level of the field among first rounders over the last three years.

Over the middle of the field? Sanders sits with an on-target percentage of 73 percent. Cam Ward sits higher than Sanders over the middle at 78 percent, both above the average of 70 percent. Among previous first rounders, Sanders’ 73 percent sits above guys like C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson, Caleb Williams, and Michael Penix Jr.

In what should be a shock to nobody, Sanders operates the short game more on-time and accurately than any quarterback on the class (91 percent on-target percentage). Only Bo Nix presented a higher base floor of being able to operate the short game well among first rounders over the last three years.

There is not a hole to be found in Sanders’ charting profile on his 2024 tape as he gets set to take his game to the NFL.

Sanders’ total Weighted On-Target Percentage comes out to 73.26 percent. This is by far the highest in this weak quarterback class and puts him in favorable company compared to previous classes.

What quarterbacks closely align from a WOT% perspective?

Sanders’ Weighted On-Target Percentage of 73.26 percent makes him one of the most accurate quarterbacks I’ve ever charted. Among every quarterback I’ve charted over the last three years, only Jayden Daniels has a higher Weighted On-Target Percentage, and by just one percent.

Sanders has a higher Weighted On-Target Percentage than Drake Maye (second-highest in last year’s class), Bo Nix, Caleb Williams, J.J. McCarthy, and Michael Penix Jr. This is a higher number than all of C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young, and Anthony Richardson from the year before.

This is the difference between Sanders and Ward in this year’s draft class. Ward’s spotty ball placement and accuracy (in addition to his unwillingness to play within structure) is too far of a risk to take as early as he is expected to go.

Sanders is not only the most accurate quarterback in this year’s class by a wide margin, but he is one of the most accurate quarterbacks I’ve ever charted.

Let’s wrap it up

While Sanders’ physical tools may be average-to-slightly above average, and while he has to continue to work on his already improved pocket work, the ball placement and accuracy is undeniable.

Just give your guy a chance. Sanders does that better than anyone else in this quarterback class.

Sanders is elite at throwing downfield and along the boundary at the intermediate level. These levels of the field create explosive plays, and that translates to the NFL. Sanders will consistently give his targets a chance to create the big play offensively.

Not only that, but Sanders is the most on-target working the short game as well. This gives him an extraordinarily high floor even as a rookie as he transitions to the professional level. This is not only a reflection of his accuracy, but also of his eyes and ability to operate on schedule.

A pro-ready, day-one starting quarterback may not exist in this class, but Sanders is the closest you’ll find of any of the names. There is much that contributes to Sanders comfortably being my QB1, and this headlines my argument.

If a quarterback has to go first overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, then it deserves to be Shedeur Sanders.

Shame we have no shot at him.  Good thing we beat Indy.

I am beyond boiling mad at winning these meaningless games in a far losing season as you attempt to set up for the next season.  The guys that won those meaningless games were trying to pad their sorry resumes.  I mean fuck Lock at this moment.  No amount of winning meaningless games will give him a shot at any team.  We have to move back to being adults about everything.  Having a winning NY team is always good for any major league.  Football, baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey anything.  When NY wins the leagues win... hands down.  For that you need grownups who understand you need a strong hated NY team to lead the way.  Case closed.  The NFL has strayed too far from that.

Real longshot but we gotta hope CLE or TN does something else at QB in the offseason, or does something stupid (hey maybe we can roll with Will Levis).

Call me a conspiracy theorist... but I don't think Ewing feel to the Knicks by chance alone.  I think Ewing going to the Knicks was the genesis for the rebirth of the NBA.

1. Watson is a fucking retard.

2. Cleveland is borderline fucking window licker.

That is reason enough.  Browns be getting Sanders or Ward.  Would be a dick move, but if Sanders refused to play for Cleveland and Tennessee went with Ward...is about only way we get one of the two

Oh I agree with you... am also agreeing with Booyah.  Watson is beyond an asshole and so self destructive that he destroys all around him as well.  He is a pure dark cloud at this point.  Emperor Palpatine in the flesh.

For shits and giggles I did a mock draft on pro football network (I was just looking at different mocks and the link showed up).

I did a few test runs and Ward was there at 3 every time.  I accepted a trtade from NE for 4 and then with another team for 18.  I wanted 2nd rd picks for my QB.

I would gladly take Warren and Ewers.  Both QBs played pretty well last night.  Not perfect, but certainly 2nd rd worthy where an offseason and half a year behind a vet would give them time to clean thise things up.

I don't know if any has posted this yet.  Apologies if has already been seen.  I always adhered to the best possible athlete formula of George Young.  However I do not see Prime Time letting his son fester in Cleveland.  It will be a big city in a big market...

He was praising God in 17 different ways doing a photo shoot with his model wife and was on a sailing trip somewhere. What a bum

So Darnold about to loose 25 million off his contract.

He is still losing?  Since his last game... last week against Detroit he has been spooked and erratic.  It is like watching Kerry Collins running from Ray Lewis... like the Giants were hearing non-existant footsteps from the Ravens mostly... the same is happening with the Vikings and the Rams.

Told you guys darnold was a bum.

He's a bum who is going to be getting more money next year somewhere. Minnesota overall is a good team, so it is not like he took over the panthers.

Yeah these two games are fresh in everyone’s minds now but the number of qb desperate teams will take care of that in March.  I still think he’ll be decent somewhere but I’m mostly just making fun of myself bc I was ready to give him 200 mil two weeks ago

Guys...we have exactly 0 QBs under contract in 2025...Darnold couldnt hurt

I would entertain Darnold only on a cheap 2 year, maybe $35-40M deal or so, which I don't think is realistic. Someone's going to pay him something like 3 years $90M or 4 years $130M, or something. I'm not willing to commit to that.

What he is right now is he's Geno Smith coming off the 2022 season; backup guy who re-established himself as starting capable, but he's probably only good enough to get you to the first round of the playoffs at most.

Granted, both are better than anything we've had in years, and I'll take them for the right price, but there's risk that they're not the answer, and I wouldn't give more than $20M per year, plus I think you'll still want to draft a qb in the 2nd or 3rd, assuming Sanders and War don't fall to us.

I'd still prefer Fields over Darnold too.
