Giants with 9th pick in draft order!

Draft class as a whole is playing well.  I agree though...time to start Tommy.

And as much as I have been hesitant to criticize Daboll...I like him as a coach...the presnap penalties were ridiculous last night.  The number of positive plays called back or the number of plays that were dead before they started were crazy.  Despite the refs calling it tight, I think that falls on the coaches.

We're in draft no man's land again.

Not enough QB's for the number of teams that are in the top 5 and top 10 of the draft, and we're not in a great position to land a QB, without a major trade at least.

Still, it's possible one could slip through (e.g. Ewers, Milroe, Allar). Personally I wouldn't mind an Allar or Milroe (Milroe especially who's very raw), who could come in and sit a year or half the year behind Daniel Jones. Any of these guys not named Cameron Ward are going to be coming in needing a year or two before they're good.

Daniel Jones had better not be on this fucking roster.

Doesn't have to be DJ, it could be a year behind a guy like Minshew, Justin Fields, or  Russell Wilson.

Point being most of these QBs not named Cam Ward aren't going to be NFL ready next year. Milroe and Allar for instance are not NFL ready. Ewers I'm hesitant on because he's injury prone, but he'd be a good QB if healthy.

This indicates we would have a dead cap hit of $22M but would save just over $19M.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/29041/daniel-jones

In other words, $41.6M cap hit if we keep him, $22.2M if we cut him.

according to here if he’s a post June 1st cut we have just a 11mil cap hit with 30mil in savings.

Of those 8 teams ahead of us only New England is set up to keep their QB.

The rest could easily take a QB.

that’s why they should have been working on acquiring draft capital to use for trading up.

any draft where we need a qb, but aren’t picking a qb, we need to be working to add future draft picks.

I imagine Carolina is going to pick another QB and not sure about Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville. The Jets are going to need another qb.

New Orleans, Vegas, and Cleveland too. Are there that many top QB's in the '25 draft?

Yeah, by trading Slayton and/or Ojulari.

We need Jameis Winston to crank it up the next 9 games, to make Cleveland a believer that he can be the guy (plus win games, so we improve our draft position).

Real longshot, but would be nice if Spencer Rattler strings together enough games to trick NO into believing he can be the guy too, lol.

Add TN to your list above though too. Very possible Jets might be in the mix too.

thats a start.  Should have traded down last year if we weren’t getting a qb.

that’s why I don’t buy the “Schoen was forced by ownership to sign Jones” stuff.   Every other move has also been made with “Jones is our qb” in mind.
