These are the stats that have truly turned the tide on Jones.

Sure...there were many who thought he sucked all along...but even those hanging on to the thread of hope that he should still have an opportunity with a supporting cast are now resigned to dismiss the Jones pick and his contract as an utter failure.

Has protection, has weapons, yet runs into sacks and is wildly inaccurate...and worse yet, careless with the football.

And the kicker is...Daboll and Schoen are screwed as a result.  Because they have two options...both bad.  Play him and he gets injured (cap hit) or play him and he sucks it up like we expect.  Or don't play him and trot Lock out there essentially giving up on the year...sending a not so welcome message to the guys on the team.

Best case scenario is he plays, sucks hard, stays healthy, and is cut during his post game shower in week 18.

You are quite correct that Schoen and Daboll are walking vampire victims all because of Gettelman and DJ... they will be left holding the bag for the season and seasons before that which is not really fair.

As much as DJ sucked balls.....not enough is being talked about Dabolls playcalling. That pick 6 - they did a bunch on the right side and then motioned Wandale from left to right....2 defenders were already zoning on Wandale because everyone knew it was gonna be a WR screen pass. WTF was that playcall in the end zone??? Does Jones not even want to audible??? That was a disaster before it even began

There’s plenty to point to, but he had time and was too chicken shit to throw downfield.  We can talk about why he’s like this now and the reasons are legit, but I thought it was a miracle that he even recovered from this and got his confidence back once in 2022, I don’t see it happening again

I don't know if Jones is even allowed to audible, lol.

That's a valid critique of that playcall, except I'm not convinced that's how they drew it up. I just can't believe a professional coach would design that play as they ran it. 

Same deal with a lot of the shit that happened on defense - a player's mental error is a much more likely explanation for a lot of that dumb shit. Like for real, we're running a zero blitz with man coverage on fourth and goal, and singling Banks on Jefferson? Come the fuck on. Banks seemed to be playing outside leverage, someone on the play side DL was probably expected to drop into coverage there. 

If not, fuck.... our new DC is dumb as shit.

It is all Occam's Razor as the the simplest explanation of guys not executing the plays as designed are usually the answer.  Daboll was an NFL level offensive coordinator before coming here.. he would have at least the rudimentary skills.  You guys never saw the Giants of the 70s who were exactly like this.  When you have so..so many holes to fill this is what you get.  They can't address every issue simultaneously since there are so many.  Things have to be approached systematically for each facet of a system.  Get that fixed and move onto the next.  It takes patience and time they may think they don't have.

That was before my time, but I know enough about the era that I hope someone on the current roster is the next generation’s Harry Carson. 
 

I know it’s going to be at least a few years before serious contention. Still need to draft the next Simms!
