What're you guys thinking about the opener?

It's all going to come down to the D-line. If they can pressure Darnold we have a good chance to win this game. Kayvon needs to come alive though and Burns can't do his disappearing act.

Without a pass rush, they're toast. There's literally zero chance that Jackson and Banks can hang with Jackson and Addison.

I think the O-line will finally be NFL caliber and we actually score some points. DJ  plays well overall but this downfield offense will expose his weak arm.

Vikings defense was below average and give up a lot of yards/big plays in 2023.

In response they signed a truck load of defense in FA, LBs and Dline mostly.

Yet to be seen if it will do anything to help.

Their offense got worse by letting Cousins walk and not resigning those two Oline players.

Having the best WR in the NFL though will keep them in any game.

Darnold is a journeyman and if McCarthy didn't blow out his ACL, would probably be on the bench by week 4.

Saving grace is if the defense can get after Darnold and force some quick outs.

I think the Oline will be much improved to an average level but who knows what DJ will do.

He will be the reason why we win or lose the game.

I wonder how bad Darnold really is. Sure he's looked pretty lousy, but he's played for arguably the two worst-run franchises in the league.

I guess we'll find out. Our secondary isn't going to be mistaken for the Legion of Boom either.

Well I was at least half-right. The line played like shit and that's a big reason we lost!

I thought the OL was actually kind of okay. Elumenor made a couple mistakes, but more like assignment kind of stuff, week 1, new offense, not too worried about that. Best early season OL performance we've seen in a very long time.

I'm kind of surprised nobody else commented on Jones going fetal momentarily, before realizing that there was no blind side hit coming and then actually getting a pass off. Maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me, but if not, its going to be a hell of a meme.

I didn’t see that play, but I believe it.  He looked like 2021 jones scared of imaginary pressure a lot yesterday.  all I’ve been wanting was average o-line play and we basically got it yesterday.  He looks completely toast mentally

He was seeing ghosts. Vilma at one point even said something like "He's not looking downfield, he's looking at the defenses front four." And that's a big problem. Ship him out. He has PTSD. Damaged goods. He'll never trust the Giants OL.
