NFL needs to do just do away with the pre season and let teams just do joint practices and maybe one pre season game.

Were essentially watching guys who are roster fodder playing vs roster fodder at this point lol

Yeah, but, everyone knows these aren't "real" games, and we all also know that they're needed to evaluate potential roster adds or deletions. I mean, when you pay a QB $60 ungodlymillions to throw a ball for 16 17 games a season, you pretty much know who's going to start (regardless of how BAD they are). Plus, any game...any game...generates shit tons of $$$ so they're never going to get rid of them.

No, what they should do is have teams set their high paid starting rosters, sit the #1's, and have only #2's and below play for their football lives for 3 weeks. Literally. Like no holds barred Bill Romanowski type shit. Best men make the roster. :flex:

The NFL needs a development league like every other professional sport.

Like you said the pre season should be for back ups and who your rotational players are going to be, fighting it out for the back up sports.

20+ guys on each team are not going to be on the team come Tuesday.

Instead send those 20+ guys along with other teams 20 + guys to a league where you can sort out the quality players.

Have it start a couple months before training camp.

Assistant coaches or OCs/DCs can be the head coaches to get their feet wet being a HC.

Refs can get more experience and pay allowing for full time refs which will help with the sport.

Have them play seven or eight games, across 12 or 14 teams.

Only players who are on the practice squad or only played less than a percentage of snaps the previous NFL year can play.

Maybe the only exception being backup QBs since they can use all the experience they can get.

The NFL can also use it as a platform for rule or game changes before putting them into regular season.

They let Evan Neal play and now he's hurt again 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I guess better now then instead of a real NFL game where he probably gets Jones killed.

Neal needs a change of scenery.

Schoen needs to trade him and get anything at this point.

Hell a 2028 7th round pick would be enough at this point.

I hope this KJ Cloyd guy clears waivers and makes the practice squad. Dude was flying all over the field last night. Could be a future rotational LB.

With the injuries to the LB core so far I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the 53 man to start the year.

McFadden, Johnson, Coughlin, Adams are all hurt.

Wouldn't be surprised to see one or two moved to IR or PUP.

This makes so much more sense.  Women's soccer has done away with the draft completely.  Let the money teams get the best players and if you can't compete with the money then too bad for the next ten years.  Then throw out a fig leaf like a luxury tax or something.  If Green Bay can't compete then fuck them.  Let them go the way of the Canton Bulldogs.

That would also be part of the plan for me.  More real games... more two team practices... and just gladiator survival of the fittest.  No more draft... pure luxury tax signings... if you can't afford it... get out.
