Pre-season game 1

Grey clearly heard there is a RB competition in camp, looks like he has more speed in his step. He keeps it up he'll be the #2 RB.

Tracy JR also showed his ability to shake and bake defenders and "Turbo" Miller has a set of jets on him.

Oline was shakey but didn't have much for starters. Ezudodo is done in the NFL. The one tackle Miles was apparently impressive according to pundits.

QB play was about what you'd expect, Lock just looks for the deep ball or check downs, DiVito scrambles at the first sign of pressure even with a decent pocket.

I really don't want either guy starting and we could do much better at backup QB.

Not much out of the WRs but neither of our QBs did anything to show them off.

The defense I was less focused on the players (shoutout to Riley though) and wanted to see what Bowden's defense was going to look like.

That hybrid front 3 down lineman with a standing edge rusher was what he did in Tennessee all the time. Two LBs with an extra safety on the line.

Nothing exotic but seemed like the guys knew what was happening in the play and swarming to the ball carrier. Seemed like they were really physical on the edge.

All and all what you expect out of the first pre season game.

No injuries so that's a bonus.

I wonder if Turbo can return these new kickoffs...  seems like the sort of place a speedy RB can really excel.   If he can hit one crease he will basically be gone for 6.

Hard to blame DeVito for taking off and running when he is working with a team full of players who will most likely not be on an NFL roster come September.   He did look to be a bit more poised than he was when he was pushed into playing last season.  I do not see them finding a better QB3 out there

PFF gave Ezudu an oddly high grade, but he sure looked bad on at least a couple plays.

Two disappointments were Hyatt and Ojulari. Hyatt got a lot of snaps, didn’t do much except not be on the same page as the qb. Ojulari should have outclassed those second and third team guys.

Ojulari is a case of a very talented player ruined by injuries, his body has failed him.

I'll give Hyatt a pass Lock got hurt and DiVito is a CFL QB in the making.
