CrazedDogs Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 Not sure why Herbert or Tua are in striking distance of Burrow money.
CrazedDogs Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 Whoa, and Love just got more per year than any of them. WTF
Herc Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 Damn love couldn’t even beat us 😂 im happy though, jones isn’t even in the top 15 now
jranieli Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 How much do you think Dak is going to get now? That contract for Love is a lot for an unproven player with not even a year experience.
Herc Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 If love doesn’t play like a top guy I think dak tops it. He’s only 30
Virginia Giant Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 By the time the draft rolls around DJ is going to be a bottom 5 paid QB and Shoen will be labeled a genius.

I don’t know about Schoen looking smart, but it sure makes the Packers front office look stupid. assuming Love plays the way he did most of last season.

Word out of camp is DJ doesn't have the arm to get the ball deep to our new, awesome WR corps. Kind of jives with the whole "he doesn't pull the trigger deep" narrative.

Heard the same thing to or read it atleast, he's under throwing or throwing up lame ducks on the deep pass. Would explain why Lock was a priority, dude has a cannon.

Oh I'm not saying he's better but if/when Jones is on IR again or sailing passes like he has been, I imagine they just want a QB to go out there a chuck the ball as hard as they can to get it to our guys downfield. We are set up to run a modern spread/all go offense like we see in Buffalo/Miami/Kansas. Spread the defense out across the field, they stack the line toss it to a guy sprinting down the field or a quick pass to the slot. They play heavy secondary, audible to a quick run with the advantage on the line or run soemthing to get the defenders moving in the opposite direction i.e. heavy motion. It's nothing special that any of those teams run, you just need a QB who can make two reads and chuck the ball downfield when it's 1v1 on the outside. You don't need a pro bowl Oline and you don't need an all star RB. Just WRs who can beat press or outrun the DB and a QB with the confidence and know how to read the defense. Jones fails at reading defenses when the play is sped up on the field, when the defense brings any sort of pressure or his first read isn't there. He got away with it his rookie year because Slayton wasn't facing bracket coverage and he could just throw it up to him, didn't work in year two because that's all teams realized Jones is. He's an RPO QB, if your first read isn't there take off. RPO QBs don't win in the NFL.
