osi724dasack
La'Roi Glover would be a great fit here if Clancy walks. I would actually like Rocky Bernard, but he is going to cost big big money... edit: but Glover may be a better short fix, and will come much cheaper, so him back in a 4-3 may be a good thing too Edited February 24, 2006 by osi724dasack
Pizan
I agree, I would really like to have Glover here if he is released. He is still only 31 and is still one of the best DTs in the game. Although he did have just 28 tackles and 3 sacks last season he played nosetackle in the Cowboys 3-4 system while spliting time with Jason Ferguson. He would definitely come with a hefty price tag but with the right moves and a few sacrifices we could probally pull it off.
Frank_Grimes
La'Roi Glover would be a great fit here if Clancy walks. I was thinking the same thing. Wasn't he on the list of possible cuts last year too though?
Money
I was thinking the same thing. Wasn't he on the list of possible cuts last year too though? I don't remember. But Glover would be an excellent fit as our under tackle in the 4-3 .... the spot Rod Coleman was supposed to play before ATL came in and signed him. Clancy is solid in that spot, but Glover would much, much better.
BigPete
What about Brent Alexander and Jason Whittle? or Will Peterson if he isn't healthy? or how about Ronde Barber (Bucs) the Texans have only just signed Davis to an extension, is a realistic cut? With regards to Peterson and Alexander, neither has a big enough cap impact to warrant mentioning. Whittle and Ronde each deserve mention on that list. I don't agree, the $840,000 we would save by releasing Alexander is worth mentioning Glover would be a great fit here, but I am not sure of the cost I think Orpheus Roye will be almost as good and signnificantly cheaper Edited February 24, 2006 by BigPete

He certainly doesn't strike me as a cap casualty. He strikes me as an "old and slow" casualty. Roye is an ok player, but he doesn't fit into our defense as well as Glover does (at the under tackle spot), nor does he have the ability that La'Roi has. There is a discernable difference between the two players. The financial aspect may come into play, although I don't imagine Glover will be too expensive because of his age (turns 32 this year).
