Why isn't Toney seeing more snaps?

well if they want to win more games they should find more ways to get him involved.

Why?. What good is he if he doesn't know the playbook and isn't practicing well. He used his athletic ability on Sunday to make something out of nothing on a blown play. Wasn't drawn up.

Like seriously, look at the injuries Saquon and Shepard had last year and look at them yesterday. Do we think if the coaching staff trusted Toney he wouldn't get the ball. Nothing this kid has done since he got here shows he understands being professional.

Daboll indicating toney behind on playbook and needs to earn his time on field. Not injury related.

Not a real good sign for Toney. ReAl good side for coaching staff and discipline. Enough bullshit.

Yep.

Agreed.   But what if as, Booyah pointed out, he's behind on the playbook and lacks the discipline to stay with the play etc?   Look, it doesn't take much for a 20 something year old to be athletic... As much as I loved him turning his touches into positive yardage, the dancing around risked the plays... Sure you have a super star (maybe) but he has to understand this is a team's sport and needs to act as such.

So how was Judge able to find ways to utilize Toney (when healthy) but Daboll can't?

You make it seem like we lost the game... He got his touches... And it's only ONE game.    Now that the mentality has changed, maybe just maybe Toney can be a good team player and watch him shine... but you can't expect someone who is not putting the work in practice to just get touches...

We nearly lost. What touches did he have? Two?

Guess we should keep Thibs and Ojulari out because the defensive game plan worked on Sunday?

Did the defensive game work though?. Or did we just do enough?. You'd like a pass rush correct?

None of us would want a guy working in the job beside us if he didn't have a grasp of doing his job or didn't work hard enough, just because he had a high IQ and might be able to become brilliant every now and then.

All this for a guy who had 39 catches last year. That's it. Hope he comes around and proves me wrong but right now he's getting what he deserves.

I’m gonna wait a bit before worrying about it.  New system, lots of missed practices, maybe they just want him up to speed and he sees a full load next week.

They just want him to work hard like everyone else. Any team who has a new coach, get's an extra week of practice so he's had time. He's doing the same shit as last year but last year we were so bad a lot of his shit had to be overlooked.  When you look at how fucking hard Shep and Saquon worked to get back on the field this year, you make them the focus and let others step up. Golladay's been acting like a fucking clown also. I'd go with the guys making the effort.

How many touches from Barkley did you want taken away and given to Toney?

I think the argument would be some of those Richie James targets should probably go to Toney.  I mean he played well considering, but Toney is that "potential to take it to the house on any play" guy.  We were happy James was actually catching his targets.

If 2 or 3 weeks down the road Toney isn't a bigger part of the game plan, there's a problem.  Week 1, factoring in everything, no issue yet.

all that said, this is Saquon's offense and he should get 25 + touches a game.

The defense essentially held them to only 7 points in the 2nd half, and played on a short field on multiple occasions due to offensive turnovers and bad ST play, and still only gave up 20 overall. Seems pretty good.

Outside the one play to Shep, the passing game was good? Shep had fewer than 39 catches last year, so he must not be good or something and that 65 yard play must have been all on the defender busting the coverage...

There were approximately 31 plays not run through Barkley, so was that some sort of mistake?

Guess he also can't help as a decoy either or something...like to get defense's attention. No-one ever does that with fast receivers, right?
