He says he'll wait and see how his knee feels in a few months, but was not optimistic. He is pondering retirement if he isn't 100% (and hell, he hasn't been 100% in years). This past season Beason finished with 18 tackles and no other recorded stats. His best game came against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7 when he finished the game with 11 tackles. It's a shame the Giants couldn't have gotten more years from him like he had with the Panthers. But obviously, retirement is what is best for the player and certainly for the team. There is little chance his body would hold up for even a quarter of a season at this point. Jon Beason, when healthy, is the kind of MLB every team wants... his leadership, his smarts, character, and fearlessness. BlueInCanada Posted January 10, 2016 Share Posted January 10, 2016 Shame that a good/great player had his career basically ended by a string of injuries every year, if only the Giant's could of gotten some of those years he put in with the Panthers, he would of been one bright spot on the defense. JR really has his work cut out for him. Maybe Beason can take a player coaching role or whatever, he seems like he's smart enough and has the leadership to coach.
