There are always teams that have an unsettled QB situation. He should want to go to on of those teams once his first contract is up because he would have a chance to win a starting gig, which could ultimately lead to a much higher salary. I'd say yes if he had played really well the last two years knowing the team has been so bad with all that's going on.
