Hmmmm. Maybe I was wrong about the Hawks trading Kam.

Sources telling me the Giants and Seahawks have discussed a potential Kam Chancellor trade. Tho the sides do remain far apart on a deal.

Washington had potential, but he really had to make the team by being a stud special teamer or at least a pretty damn good special teamer. If you are on the bubble, you better be a monster on special teams because that's how you get on the team through the back door. The front door opens only for draft picks, trades, and picking up free agents.

So it looks like they will be going with Davis and Parker as backups.

I had him as a cut. Didn't think they'd carry 7 receivers and Davis and Parker are more versatile, and have shown more. Really excited about the potential of Geremy Davis.

I like Davis as well. He was a sleeper pick because he was on a team that had a shit QB. He fights hard for a ball and is strong as an ox. Will work the slot well. Had zero drops in 2014 behind a terrible QB. He's also very good on special teams. And he's not a small target (6'3") and will go up for the ball.

Here's an early and funny evaluation of him before the draft: http://www.theuconnblog.com/2015/4/28/8305151/nfl-draft-uconn-huskies-football-geremy-davis-update

I think the Giants got a late round steal and the fact that the Eagles, Patriots and Seahawks were interested in him and thought they'd get a late round steal makes the get that much sweeter.

Is this official?

I read that Washington was waived. Going on IR would be good though.

So Washington has to clear waivers, then he's on our IR list?

Patricia Traina retweeted Frank Romanelli

When waived/inj, it's IR or t reach an injury settlement & then wait 6 wks b4 they can attempt to re-sign him.

Patricia Traina added,

Frank Romanelli @RomoCop74
@Patricia_Traina @HowardShatsky so, only IR...if he clears? Can't they move him to PS after 6 weeks?

Detroit cut TE Joe Fauria. He had promise and in his first year (2013) had 7 TD's. Then he fell into the doghouse and didn't get much playing time. Don't know the circumstances. But he's 6'7", 25 yrs old. If he can block, I'd go after him and team him up with Fells for a 2-headed TE monster. It would be nice to have a legit TE in the mold of Whiten or Gronk. Not saying he's in their league, but it all depends on how he's used in a system.

Regardless, some team will scoop him up.
