boohyah
Beckham was supposed to be all state in soccer in hs.
BlueInCanada
"Why is he doing this in practive he can hurt his toe" "Obviously old man Coughlin would be stupid enough to let him do this and risk injury" "Why the fuck isn't he wrapped in a plastic bubble, with five armed guards and his mom escorting him around the practice field" Or whatever else people might say. NightFire
Not going to be negative about kicking but why is Beckham returning punts? That's a real Coughlin head scratcher.
Storm
Why wouldn't your most dynamic playmaker be returning punts? He excelled at it in college and it was one of his selling points. Why wouldn't you put your playmakers in position to help you win games?

Why wouldn't you put your playmakers in position to help you win games? Not to mention if anything to "avoid being injured" he shouldn't even be playing at all, by the same logic he shouldn't be returning punts. Hixon, Cruz, Smith, Nicks all went down on IR, not by returning punts or kicks but just playing regular offensive snaps. If anything Beckham should stop being played on offense and just be allowed to return punts. When's the last time anyone has seen a returner go down on IR from a punt return when compared to WRs getting hurt on a regular play?

Chuck Wagon
punt returns are fine. kick returns are where it's a bit more dangerous Unless you practice during the pre-season...like they did with Sehorn,,,then it is all good. NightFire
Well if he smashed on a punt return I don't want to hear a peep then. I would never put my best player in that situation. The ROI is simply not worth it.

The ROI is simply not worth it. Especially after we've signed like a dozen guys to be returners.

I'm Still not over Sehorn... You don't put your star player to return punts or kicks... You need to have guys whose primary duty is punt/kick returns

He doesn't return everytime though if I remember right. I don't know all his games but on the Giants Dodge cluster fuck return wasn't that his only punt return try? Herc
half of punt returns are a fair catch and then when you do get hit it's not after you got a 20 yard head of steam vs defenders with a 45 yard head of steam
