UK-Giantsfan
Petrus waived, Beckum activated Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter According to @mortreport, Giants have placed guard Mitch Petrus on waivers and activated tight end Travis Beckum from the PUP list. Probably the right move with Pascoe hurt ( and Petrus having played very badly in recent times )
Gman329
What happened to Petrus in one year? Last year, I thought we had a raw but promising young player....and when pressed into service due to injuries, he played well, especially in goal line situations - he looked powerful as hell. This year, he looked clumsy and slow from the first day of camp. What happened?
Allstarjim
I'm guessing he didn't put in the work in the offseason. But I have no way of knowing this for sure. But it's the only explanation I can think of for his precipitous drop in performance. Or, there is a lingering injury/injuries that we don't know about, that has prevented him from performing at the level he needs to.
Mr. P
He may have just overachieved last year.
osi724dasack
Petrus is putrid as a pass blocker. Beckum is a nice little weapon for us. A good 4th option.
Tempest
Players can regress but I see activating Beckum and releasing Petrus as swapping out players of equal talent at different positions.
