EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.—Sitting in front of his locker, New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul looked bigger than last season, when he became one of the NFL’s top defensive ends.

Pierre-Paul said he had gained only five pounds. Must have been five pounds of muscle.

 

"Becoming more of a man," Pierre-Paul said with a smile at Tuesday’s minicamp.

 

At 6-5, 295 pounds, Pierre-Paul moves with the agility of someone much smaller.

Adding muscle is a good thing, unless it compromises his agility. If he can still cross the field doing backflips and is just as quick as he was last year, then he'll be even better.
