Mets swept by Yankees.

Jason Bay is the worst player in Mets history.

The reason why I started this was because you're radio guy said "the Yankees with another pop fly home run"

That's sour grapes. Our team is simply better and more powerful. That radio guy should know his place and his teams place. Show some respect, i didn't see the Mets hit any pop fly HRs. Besides the only area of Yankee stadium that is short is RF. And we build our team to take advantag of our stadium. So what? Cry me a river you baby backed bitch! We are the Yankees and we are better and always will be.

Btw this rant is directed at the Mets radio guy and all the cry baby Mets fans. Most of you guys are good fans though. At this point in time SW is mainly Mets fans too strangely enough. (Giant fans usually equal Yankee fans)

Anyways, good luck to you. The Yankees are a force and will remain a force. Our $30 million dollar backup closer is coming in handy and Andy "fucking" Pettitte is saving our season. He's a leader and a warrior.

Reinforcement are on the way too (Gardner and his 11th best MLB WAR since 2009) (Robertson and even Joba also) (maybe Nunez too if he gets his glove together down in AAA, he's a dynamic bench weapon with incredible speed and line drive hitting)

Yeah, I agree with you about the sour grapes comment. Regardless of the dimensions, they're the same for both teams. Gardner might be gone for a while though Osi I believe he just went for a visit with Dr. Andrews. We'll see though the Yanks are getting great efforts from the starting rotation and they do have plenty of pop in the lineup. Oh!.....and fuck Jason Bay almost forgot.

I didn't have a problem with the homers. I had a problem with Martin having an opportunity to hit both of them.

1) David Wright's error preceded the first one that would've ended the inning. It would've still been 3-0 going into the 8th.

2) The following home run by Martin was catchable by Hairston, if he had played that better than he did. He did not go back on that ball well and mistimed his jump, as well as where the wall was. Hairston is not a good defensive outfielder. But even still, that's probably a double if they reviewed it, and Collins should've asked for one. The fan reached out over the wall to bring that ball in, so Martin owes that guy a beer, because that ball would've come down in play.

3) The Quintanilla error on Jeter... which was ridiculous that the official scorer ruled that a single (home cooking, I guess). Should've been a routine out, and Jeter became the tying run.

4) A-Rod's "RBI single" that pushed across the 4th Yankee run was a routine pop fly that, because the infield was drawn in, went uncaught... but even given the defensive position, I still thought that ball should've been caught... Mets' infielders were again too slow to get to that ball.

5) In the 9th, Thole cannot strikeout with a runner on 3rd and less than two outs. He has to get the ball to the outfield and it was poor situational hitting. What else is new for the Mets, though... they've struggled in that situation for the last several years.

Basically, the Yankees were the beneficiary of some poor defense and lack of execution. But the goal of any team is to capitalize on mistakes by the other team and the Yankees did that, so tip of the cap. But let's not get all crazy and act like the Yankees won because of superior talent on Sunday. The Mets handed them runs with defensive miscues, it's as simple as that.

This is a rebuilding year for the Mets. They've played pretty well overall but they are a young team. The window for the Yankees is closing, and they don't have a championship caliber roster this year, something that's going to be evident late in the season.

The Mets have a ton of young talent that is getting close. They play in a very tough division. This time next year they will be contenders, but I'm enjoying the young players cut their teeth this year... this is a fun team to watch, much more fun than recent years' past.

The Mets may have a starting five next year that looks like this: Johan Santana, R.A. Dickey, Jonathan Niese, Matt Harvey, and Zach Wheeler. Dillon Gee could be long relief. But those last two guys are coming fast, and they are studs. And that rotation has potential to be as dominant as the Nationals and Rays this year.

Speaking of the Rays, I am going tonight and tomorrow night to see the Rays and Mets play at the Trop. Really looking forward to it, this is the first regular season Mets' game I've ever witnessed in person.

And the Rays, despite a lack of hitting at times, are the real deal, and they can outpitch anyone in their division. When they get Longoria back, the hitting woes will be less evident. So worrying about how the Mets compare to the Yankees is foolish to me. I would worry about the Rays, because they aren't going away anytime soon.

My first love is the Mets, and I'll be wearing my Mets' hat tonight... but I also might ring a little Tampa Bay Rays cowbell, too. :D

By the way, that short porch in right is pathetic. Looking forward to the series at Citi Field June 22nd through 24th. We'll see if the Yankees can score runs in a REAL ballpark. :big F-U:

Yea I heard Wheeler is finding his way all of a sudden. Trade for Lincecum? :ermm:

He's dominating AA ball, 6-2 record and holding hitters to a .160 average. Piling up a lot of K's, too. He should be promoted to AAA around mid-season, I think, and a September call-up is not out of the question.

Turned out the trade for Beltran wasn't a good one but it seemed right at the time. Plus the Giants still have 5 good starters Although Lincecum has traded places with Zito, he'll come around. Sadly, so will Zito.

LOL, blu. Can't knock them for going for it, especially with Posey out. As a Mets fan, it's nice to see Carlos hitting better with the Cards than he ever did for us. :(

And I worry a little bit for Lincecum. He produces so much torque, I wonder if the shoulder is really ok. You would know better than me on that one.

It's amazing what a decent lineup can do for a hitter. That, and a hitter's park.

Seems that Timmy's problem is more with location. Most doctors say his delivery is sounder than most.

I think it's some SF honey that has him spinning. You know what they say:

But, it could be that something's not right. Right now, I'm glad he's signed for only 2 years.
