BleedinBlue
Ya got Rolle in the top 10 and in the 11-15 group. I think Ballard should be in the top 20.
Allstarjim
Ballard, Bleedin'? He's talking 2012... the upcoming season... Ballard is either going to be on PUP for the first 6 weeks or on IR. I don't expect to see Ballard play at all next season. Microfracture surgery on that knee, he's not going to be ready.
Allstarjim
I think Will Beatty is going to have a great season for us. Just wear the helmet shield. And I expect Wilson to do some good things as a rookie.
Mr. P
I think by the end of the season it won't be crazy to believe Prince is the best CB on the team. He's going to have that kind of season.
Sephiroth
1. Barden (finally primed for a season with 4,000 yards and 45 TDs) 2. Eli 3. JPP 4. Tuck (he's gonna have a monster season, bank on it) 5. Nicks 6. Webster (will quietly be not talked about again en route to a Pro Bowl type season). 7. Wilson (dude is gonna draw comparisons to Chris Johnson by midseason) 8. Bradshaw (will still do well, but be hurt a lot as usual) 9. Snee (another huge bounceback season) 10. Cruz (slight dip as defenses pay more attention to him, but still a great year) Honorable Mention: Boley (when healthy he's the impact player we need on defense

Treehugger
brain fart: Who's Joseph? DT Linval Joseph who, along with the as-yet untested DT Austin, I'm hoping will crush some skulls for us in the middle this year.

Webster will see less action to start the season off IMO. unless that teams #1 wr is really all they have to throw to.
Nas
I'm on board with Bleedin.. I'm rooting for Hertzlich to be our starting MLB although part of me wants Kiwi to man that position.. he's built for it.

This year is going to be a breakout year for our future Mike LB.........drum roll..............Herzlick! You can take that to the bank. You're nutty, Bleedin'! Rivers and Boley are the two main guys now... with Kiwi still at the Joker, possibly playing more DE. After that you have to think our Dirty White Boy will be getting more time in the middle. Herzlich is still at least a year away in development, I think. Real talk, he was not an effective player at the position when he saw time last season. If he was, Chase probably doesn't come back. While I agree with your assessment of Herzlich, didn't he get hurt and sent to IR and that was also a big reason Chase came back?

Allstarjim
I forgot Herzlich got hurt, but he didn't go on injured reserve. Either way, when Chase joined the team there was a massive improvement at middle linebacker. Right now Herzlich is not as good a player as Chase Blackburn... so as much as I'm rooting for him because he's a good story, I really just want the best players to be playing, whether that be him, Blackburn, Greg Jones, or whoever Fewell puts at the MLB spot between Rivers and Boley. My guess is Boley will stay at his position but still call all the plays, and Rivers goes to the middle.

Allstarjim
Has the team experimented with Kiwi in the middle? He has the physical abilities. No they haven't. The problem is that MLB is a every down position. Kiwi has gotten a lot better in pass coverage, but he's a much better pass rusher than he is a coverage linebacker. In the nickel, often times Kiwi is at DE, with Tuck or JPP inside, or when they use the 4 Aces package. Moving him to MLB would be a net loss, because he we really wouldn't benefit as much from his greatest strength, and asking him to do a lot more of what is his least refined aspect in his game. You don't want to have him as a part time Mike, either, because then there's a lack of continuity. He's perfect where he's at, from the SAM position he plays the run very well, is an asset at that linebacker spot on early downs, and when the Giants go to the nickel, he gets his chance to put his hands in the dirt and pin his ears back. He gets a lot of snaps, and the Giants maximize both his run-stopping and pass-rushing abilities.

I still doubt that he makes the team this year, but he definitely should.
