Treehugger
Giants sign Waterloo lineman Oakville, Ontario native Joel Reinders has joined the Super Bowl champion New York Giants. Reinders, a 6-8 and 317 pound offensive tackle, was in training camp with the Cleveland Browns in 2010. He joined the team as an undrafted free agent and played in one preseason game before he was waived on Sept. 3. Reinders did not play football last season. Reinders began his athletic career in the CIS at the University of Waterloo as a basketball player. He played in only eight collegiate football games before being chosen to play in the East-West Bowl (the signature CIS event designed to showcase the best and brightest of Canadian university football talent). After viewing a You Tube video of Reinders, the Browns signed him shortly after the 2010 NFL draft.
