Mr. P Posted January 12, 2011 Share Posted January 12, 2011 Kevin Boss battled a hip injury for much of the season, and he's having surgery to hopefully correct the problem today. One day after his 27th birthday, Boss was undergoing what a source familiar with his situation called a "minor" arthroscopic procedure to correct the lingering issue. Boss only missed one game this season - - Week 2 against the Colts - - and that was due to a concussion. The free-agent-to-be caught 35 passes for 531 yards and five touchdowns this season. Since he is not under contract for next season, and since the Giants have said they won't re-sign anyone until the NFL and NFLPA reach agreement on a new CBA, it's not clear whether Boss will be back with the Giants next season. Meanwhile, DE Osi Umenyiora will have surgery on his hip sometime next week, according to a source. He is still undecided on where he'll have the surgery, though.
