Linebacker Kenny Ingram will sign with the Giants' practice squad, according to a person with direct knowledge of the deal. The person requested anonymity because the transaction had not yet been announced by the Giants. It is not yet known what corresponding move will be made to open a spot for Ingram.

Ingram was on the Giants' practice squad last season and spent part of the offseason on the roster. He most recently played for the Hartford Colonials in the United Football League. He had 22 tackles and a forced fumble with the Colonials this season.

A 6-5, 239-pound Florida State product, Ingram signed with the Giants after he went undrafted in 2009. He spent mini-camps and training camp with the team before he was waived prior the season. He joined the practice squad last December and spent mini-camps with the team before he was released prior to training camp.

Ingram provides an extra body at linebacker, a unit that took a hit when Clint Sintim suffered a knee injury on Monday against the Vikings. After the game, Sintim believed he might have torn his ACL.
