Mr. P
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Giants wide receiver Steve Smith left practice early this afternoon with an apparent groin injury. Smith was running a route up the right sideline during 1-on-1 passing drills when he pulled up lame. The ball sailed over his head and past cornerback Corey Webster, who was tight in coverage, as Smith hopped a few times. Smith, who set a franchise record with 107 receptions last season, started stretching his left groin area on the sideline and then received treatment from the training staff. A few minutes later, Smith limped back toward his teammates while holding the inside of his left leg. Giants coach Tom Coughlin will update Smith's status after practice. Also, during the same drill in which Smith was injured, tight end Jake Ballard left with an apparent hamstring injury. Ballard was running a flag route and did a good job of getting a free release at the line. But as the pass from quarterback Rhett Bomar arrived, Ballard grabbed the back of his leg. Ballard is now the third injured tight end. Kevin Boss did not practice today because of his recovery from ankle surgery and Travis Beckum is still out with a hamstring issue. In addition to Smith and Ballard, wide receiver Duke Calhoun left with an undisclosed injury. Calhoun was walked off the field and to the locker room by the training staff. http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2010/08/giants_receiver_steve_smith_le.html he fuckin better be ok. Mr. P
NJ_Giants Smith said he made a "normal move and heard it kind of grab." Doesn't seem to think it's serious but will have an MRI.
Gman329
WTF is is going on?!?! Every fucking day it's something else to worry about! I thought with 100% participation in the off season program, guys would be in shape and able to avoid injuries. Sure doesn't seem that way. Is it possible they've worked out too frequently during the off season and are fatigued?

hlb37
if you look around the league there are a ton of teams way worse off than us at this point. yep. Smith can afford to miss a week or two at this point. They are probably just being real cautious with this. look at the shit happening to the broncos right now. That is what we had last year at this time
Nas
Proper warm up please. Incorporating ONE or 2 yoga sessions a week would do wonders for these kind of injures.
