now who's boring? rolleyes.gif

the argument was who did the 49ers fear the most. the answer remains the NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS, MUTHAFUCKA!

concussions and broken ribs don't show up on the stat sheets, idiot.

you are so dimwitted it is laughable. really, this is your argument? so using your goofy rationale, the dog should then argue that given the fact that the saints defense battered brett favre into oblivian last year in the championship game, that the entire vikings team right now is fearing playing the saints in the post season in the future...too funny.

look, again for you and others who don't get it, the giants had good years in the 80's, average years in the 80's, and bad years in the 80's. to pair them with the 49ers as the two dominating teams of that decade is absurd. two other teams won 2 super bowls those years. the broncos went to three sb, made the postseason in 5 seasons stretching from 83-89. they are just as worthy as the giants...thea bears may have had the most dominatant super bowl winner of the decade, and went to the playoffs 5 of those seasons...they should be ahead of the giants on that...etc...etc...etc..zzzzzzzzzz.......

Youre stretchin....BIG TIME. We arent comapring overall records or success. We just know, and its been stated by SF staff....that when the 9ers DID have the opportunity to face us....they were worried. It could have been once, twice...whatever. They were worried. Period. Stop already, youre just annoying now.

shockingly you missed the point here. several have stated in this thread that the giants were along with the 49ers the dominant team of the decade. that is what the dog is responding to here. it is false. now to your point, the dog is sure when the 49ers faced any team in the playoffs, they had concerns. were they more concerned about the giants in 86? yes, as any team was. just like they would have been concerned facing the bears in 85, the redskins in '82 and '87 and so on and so on...that is the nature of the game. just like the giants were worried, even in 86, playing teams they played, and that would include the broncos in the super bowl.

No, I didnt miss the point here dog. You are just trying to stretch it to where you think you're right. Its not false at all. When you think of the 80's you really think of 4 teams. 49ers, Redskins, Bears and Giants. One way or another, they were always in the mix. Aside from maybe a couple yrs.

The 49ers would have loved to play Washington in the playoffs in '82. They didn't get in that year.

Denver was an extremely flawed team in the 80s that got in to those Superbowls due to Elway's heroics and the AFC's overall lack of talent in comparison to the NFC. Unless you intend to tell me that a team can be carried by Karl Mecklenburg and Sammy Winder. Not to take away from Karl, he was a very good linebacker, but he was also undersized and it was insane of Reeves to make him carry that defense.

Exactly.

Those were the dominant teams of the 80's. The Niners were the best of the bunch but any of those teams were killer.
