gmenroc
http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/insider/new...%3fid%3d2394900 Just a little nugget I noticed on ESPN about the Giants.
Guest Lockhart
I think they will take the best player, regardless of position, but would like an Outside linebacker if they feel it is one that can come in and start.
Guest Nutty Sack
Well this of course would make all the sense in the world but of course we have a GM who has been in a coma since the playoff shut out. He'll probaly awaken the night before and see if Bert Jones is available.
Storm
i think it's pretty much a safe bet we will pick the best linebacker or defensive tackle available.

One would think, but they may look at a Running back or dcornerback as well. I think they would seriously consider trading down, if that would give them 4 picks in the first day. I also think the draft is deep at linebacker so if whoever we wanted wasnt there, we could trade down.
Guest Carbo
As much as the Giants need a DT, I wouldn't cry if they somehow wheeled and dealed and ended up with Maryland TE Vernon Davis. It'll never happen, of course, but it sure would address another glaring problem for the Giants at the TE position.

Vernon Davis would be a HUGE upgrade over Shockey in speed, hands, blocking, and most importantly toughness. It has been suggested in the Giant FO that the number 1 choice of 2007 be coupled with the 2006 number 1 to move up. One wonders how far up one has to be to get Davis , but it would appear to be in the top 8 or 9. Even Ernie wouldn't pass up that stud, then he could trade Shockey at the draft and pick up more draft choices and rid the Giants of a huge TO type attitude problem - after that only Plaxico remains to be dealt with. Yeah, lets trade our Pro-Bowl TE for a player who hasn't even played a down in the NFL. Yeah, that makes perfect sense....Morons!
