Virginia Giant
oops, walk off... CJ is due one of those every month, he's been stellar, but i honestly think the pressure of being the closer gets to him. In the set up role, he's money, as the closer, he has his games where even i could hit him. Hopefully, they get Frank at the back end asap. I hope Nellie Cruz isn't hurt bad, with the way josh has been stinking the place up the last thing we need is one of out boppers to miss a lot of time. But back to Feliz, that was an amazing debut, first 4 batters he faced he struck out, and he was throwing his off speed stuff for strikes, not meat balls down the middle, but nibbling the corners. Taylorized56
Slight derail but what does the future hold for Derek Holland? I know he's gone through some growing pains this year but he was dominant in his last start. I picked him up in my keeper league. Is he a top of the rotation guy? And yeah, Perez was pretty impressive tonight. 21 of his 30 pitches went for strikes.

Well, one of the sticking points to the Roy Halladay deal (other than him telling the clubs he wouldn't agree to a trade to the Rangers) was the Rangers didn't want to givew up holland. The thing about Holland is in his last start it started to click for him, before that he was relying on his fastball and after an at bat or two guys had his timing down. His last start he was working the off speed stuff in really well. He was the Rangers minor league pitcher of the year last year I believe, and is definately viewed as top of the rotation kinda guy. Virginia Giant
Just read that the last time a pitcher in his major league debut struck out the first 4 batters he faced was in 1962.

Virginia Giant
Game two didn't fair as well, 2 run homer on his second pitch. Left a 98 mph fastball right down the middle.

Well, Kenedy has a knack for getting around on even the best fastballs. He took frank Fransisco's 95/96 mph fastball out earlier this year. Still, you can't leave a fast ball dead center to a major league hitter. How do we play so well all year and then drop 3 straight to the fucking A's? Yes it does, no reason to lose 3 in a row to the worst team in the division. The rangers are believing their own hype apparently.
