Lubeck
Why did they leave Gardner in a position to give them a double play? And why in a tie game on a day when Mo hadn't pitched the game before wasn't he out there in the 9th?
Lubeck
Well apparently Gardner was given the sign to steal and didn't...still though no Mo in the 9th? And did anyone else think there was something....inconsistent with the calls on pitches yesterday? The strike zone kept changing sizes.
Ditto
Refresh me. I was more concerned with the Yankees tying the errorless streak record. Pena was on 3rd, right? It was an obvious steal, and I doubt he would have even drawn a throw.
MakeMeSomeFoodHo
Im not saying I agree or disagree with this, but, most likely the reason Mo wasnt in the game in the 9th is becuase they were on the road and would still need somebody to close the game out if they were to score a run. You put in guys like Coke and Robertson and hope they can hold the team down in the 9th, you score in the 10th and Mo closes it out. Again, Im not saying I agree or disagree with this, but thats pretty much what all teams do in those situations...you try to get it to extra innings, score and then bring in your closer.
