What Is A Mock Draft?

Perhaps I am missing something, because I simply don't understand why people seem love these so much.

It's like the cherry blossums or some other much ado about nothing festival we all gawk at.

 

As I understand, a mock draft is where a couple of guys "guess" who is going to drafted by whom and when.

So what?

I don't understand 1) the big deal 2) how this is fun or how it can be done, how can you predict who is going to be drafted, and if so, why do you need more than one to do it?
