Clarence the Blue Puppet
I guess gone are the days of the unbiased announcer. Keep hiring former players and it's homer after homer in the booth. :brooding:

Clarence the Blue Puppet
try watching the Dallas /Philly game with Buck And Aikman I am...it's horrible. Play by play men have gotten lazy too. Back in the day they would announce every little detail. Joe Buck's call of the Eli/Plax TD in the Super Bowl (Manning....Burress....Touchdown)sounds like the "Monty" from Major League (Fly ball...caught). I was reading the Wiki article of that play and I was not surprised at the level of detail given by Buck vs Papa. Pressure from Thomas off the edge. Eli Manning … stays on his feet. Airs it out down the field. It is … caught by Tyree. Buck Manning takes the snap. Back to throw. Under pressure, avoids the rush, and he's gonna … fight out of it, still fights out of it, now throws it deep down field, wide open Tyree who … makes the catch! At the twenty two yard line! What a play by Manning! He eluded three sacks! He runs up to Mike Carey and calls a time out! And what a catch by Tyree, with 58 seconds to go! Papa Granted Papa is calling on the radio and needs to give more detail for his audience but that is a pathetic difference.

The catch was spoofed by Justin Timberlake at the 2008 ESPYs. It 'reveals' that he left gum on David Tyree's Helmet, which helped him catch the pass (since he caught it close to the top of his helmet).[23] The pass from Eli Manning to David Tyree won the Award for best play. During their acceptance speech, David Tyree jokingly thanked Justin Timberlake for "the gum". Eli Manning also jokingly thanked his offensive line,"for giving me zero pass protection". :LMAO:

That was the lamest call of a game winning Super Bowl touchdown ever. It was so underwhelming I thought maybe he had seen a flag against the Giants and it was coming back. He literally SUCKS! They say that Eli is quite the practical joker. Ward said they call him "The Godfather" because he talks other people into pulling the pranks while he watches and laughs. Ward said they call him "The Godfather" because he talks other people into pulling the pranks while he watches and laughs. I believe it. Eli is the mastermind coming up with plots and passes them off to the position players and they think "Wow what a prank"...but in the end I think they all know who did it. He is a baby brother. And being the eldest brother I know what the youngest does to cause me trouble.

BurnThePhilFans
The worst announcing I have ever witnessed was Joe Buck's call on the Eli to Tyree Miracle... Listen to that call and it sounds the same as if Jacobs would have gone up the middle for 3 yards

Listen to that call and it sounds the same as if Jacobs would have gone up the middle for 3 yards Yes, truly an embarrassment. You would think Fox could do much better than Buck, particularly for football. I actually think Aikman is a fairly decent color guy, though. He fairly criticizes his old team. He is by no means a homer during his broadcasts, I have to give him that. But Buck is completely awful, and it still ticks me off that he called that play (the Eli to Tyree miracle catch) so blandly, so underwhelmingly, and it was arguably the greatest play in SuperBowl history. As a play by play man, you have to recognize greatness when you see it and call it as such. Buck sucks.

JMFP
try watching the Dallas /Philly game with Buck And Aikman Joe Buck basically fired Wade Phillips yesterday. If Jerry Jones gives Wade the axe, Buck is 1-1 in his career of getting an NFC East coach canned. He tried pretty hard with Coughlin, but we all know how that turned out.
