Money
Giants bring back speedster Carter The four-year veteran, who was also in negotiations with the Tampa Bay Bucs earlier in the day, will sign a two-year contract worth $2 million. The contract includes $500,000 in upfront money and allows Carter the opportunity to earn an additional $300,000 per year in incentives.
osi724dasack
you beat me to it... I like it...very cheap rate, but I consider him a real bad player...only 11 catches last year, including 2-3 drops taht could have easily been TD's

27Hampton
I can't argue with the signing at that price. He does have the speed you must respect...no matter how bad a receiver he actually is.
Martin
The price was right. Lets hope carter can be productive. maybe next week we sign a DT ! grady jackson would help

27Hampton
Anyone know what our cap room looks like now? I could be wrong, but I understand us to be just shy of $4mil under.
Guest Carbo
Complete waste of a roster spot. Is there any rhyme or reason as to EA's thought process?
HOUND
Well we needed a deep threat speed merchant and Carter definitely qualifies. Hopefully he can stay on the field. Our offense definitely performed better when he was active. I'm OK with this signing. It was an awfully weak crop of FA wideouts this year. No sense overspending on a guy with average talent (Cough Randle-El cough cough).

Goliath
If he's healthy, he's a threat. A million a year isn't unreasonable

Money
I think the decision to bring back Carter was partially motivated by the lack of quality/speed WRs in the draft...
Guest Carbo
No sense overspending on a guy with average talent (Cough Randle-El cough cough). And even less sense spending anything on a receiver who can't catch.
27Hampton
It's better than signing Keyshawn at $4mil per and $5mil bonus. *as Hamp thanks the Lord for that once again*
HOUND
It will be Jackson or Buckner next week , then on to the draft. I'm hearing the same. I'd prefer Grady, even if he is an out of shape fat slob, he's still tough to block.
osi724dasack
I actually like the signing now when I think about it...every team needs a speedy WR, and Tim is that guy for us...Taylor is a guy who can get downfield, but he is so fragile that it is just ridiculous
