jranieli
DEACTIVATED http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/10/24/...-sit-on-sunday/ Our buddy Tim Benz of WXDX in Pittsburgh tells us that Steelers coach Mike Tomlin will deactivate receiver Santonio Holmes for Sunday’s game against the Giants. Holmes was cited for marijuana possession on Thursday. Tomlin declined to call the move a suspension. Technically, teams are not permitted to discipline players who have been charged with drug or alcohol offenses. Nate Washington will start in place of Holmes. Dallas Baker and Limas Sweed will both be active for the Steelers.
Allstarjim
 I like Mike Tomlin. Good coach. We still have to worry about Nate Washington, though, and perhaps Limas Sweed, a big unknown. We're going to win, though, I can feel it!
jranieli
I like Omar Epps too, oops I mean Tomlin. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...s/s_595040.html In other news, running back Willie Parker (knee), tackle Marvel Smith (back) and defensive end Aaron Smith all missed practice yesterday. Marvel Smith is out for the Giants game and Parker is doubtful. Tomlin said that Aaron Smith, who has missed practice all week because of personal reasons, is questionable for the game. How much you want to bet Kawika is on that report. I saw that guy at the post superbowl parade and he's a freak of nature

I really think Kawika (of the Bills, our ex-linebacker I assume you mean), is a pretty good character guy and has had a long career in the NFL and has never, to my knowledge, had any trouble with illegal substances. I'm just hoping there are no Giants on that list.

Sephiroth
Holmes is out. Parker looks to be out. Smith isn't looking too good. We might get lucky with this one.
BronxRik
DEACTIVATED http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/10/24/...-sit-on-sunday/ Tomlin declined to call the move a suspension. Technically, teams are not permitted to discipline players who have been charged with drug or alcohol offenses. That's a confusing statement. Why would the league not allow a team to discipline a player? You would think they would encourage teams to take care of things like this, before the league has to. Allstarjim
LUCKY????... were you praying for luck when we face the cowgirls in the playoff last year?? or the Packers,, or the cheaters??? we got this!!!! No, but a little bit more of bad luck last year in any of those 3 games and we don't win the Supe. Perhaps Romo completes that final pass. Perhaps we win the OT toss in GB and it's Eli that throws a pick 6. Or perhaps Webster merely deflects that pass and the GB WR catches it and goes all the way. Or perhaps Tyree doesn't make that catch on his helmet or O'Hara or someone is called for holding. One play was the difference in all those games. We could've just as easily have lost, and thank God we didn't. The margin between losing and winning is a thin line, indeed. Point is, don't look a gift horse in the mouth. A little bit of luck might be the difference, and I for one will welcome it. If no Santonio means that they have a tougher time on offense, good for us, and bad for them. Just want the 'W'.
