Coverage wasn't really his strong suit... But towards the end of last year he was getting better. But you can't fault him for Monday. I don't care if you have Ronnie Lott, Emlen Tunnell (God rest his soul), Dion Sanders, and Rod Woodson on your secondary. They are going to get burned if you don't create pressure at the QB. I don't think Cutler was even touched on Monday.

Well, last year, they were "beyond Pathethic", so at least now that they spent all that money on free agents and have JaMarcus Russell and McFadden from the get go, they have improved to just "Pathethic". Good job Al.

 

 

All joking aside, no matter what Gibril does out there, he will always be considered overpaid, he can't win except in his bank account. And I can't blame him for taking the money and running. Overall he was a good return for us on a 5th rounder.

I think it is safe to say that Al Davis is certifiably insane or senial. I thought the Rams were bad and of course still think they might not win a game...but I also think the Raiders may not win a game either.

Think about the Raiders situation, Al davis had a resignation letter written for Lane Kiffin in the offseason and Kiffin wouldn't sign it. Then, Kiffin wasn't at the combines or barely attended. Davis negotiated to bring in McFadden on his own. Then Davis goes and spends millions on sub standard players for a team, and he doesn't even want the fucking coach.

I think he is also getting too much flak from us for DB's blown coverage. I didn't watch the whole game but on the first TD the WR was wide open and GW had to run half way across the field and of course was too late. After the TD you could see him standing around bewildered. The Raiders are fucked; a senile owner, a coach that is already gone and a team of me firsts and has beens. God couldn't succeed on this team. That Javon Walker signing though was pure genius.

He would have never made that money here, and there's no guarentees he'd have the same success here either in the future. The guy played 4-5 years on small money, he had the chance to get his big payday and he got it. Good for him. You won't hear the Giants or the FO hold any grudges against him either and if I'm correct he was welcome back for the ring ceremony.
