xxi-xxv
Dear Carlos, You team has suffered some very unfortunate injuries the past few weeks. Your OF mate in Ryan Church may be out for the year. Your #2 starter in John Maine has a dead arm and some shoulder weakness. You closer is hurt and a mess anyway. You usually are manning CF next to 2 former infielders. What does this all mean? Your team needs you NOW to be a superstar, we need you to carry the team a bit, need a hot streak from you like we got from the other Carlos a few weeks back. You told Rollins the Mets were the team to beat, its time to do what Rollins did in 07 and be the man who leads the charge. In short Carlos, the Mets need you and the fans need you to be the man for a while. Sincerely, Concerned Met Fans everywhere P.S. lay off the curveball

For me, he'll always be remembered for standing around, watching a potential trip to the World Series drop in for strike 3. I'm tired of the groundouts (usually to 2nd base) when the Mets need a big hit, too. And I'm really fed up with him playing deep no matter what the situation is. When is the last time this guy threw a runner out at the plate, or even came close? Runner on 2nd, hit a single to center, and you can walk home. ONCE! It still stings, and everytime he strikes out looking I think about it. The same way I think about Kenny Rogers everytime a pitcher walks a guy with the bases loaded.
