Great underrated plays from the NFC championship

Just thought I'd share a couple plays that I thought really stood out that didn't get a lot of attention and were big plays:

1) In the series after Green Bay got the ball back after McQuarters fumbled the INT, Corey Webster tackled the Packer RB 7 yards deep off a swing pass while shedding a block at the same time.

2) Antonio Pierce tackling Ryan Grant on the middle screen with one arm WHILE being blocked. He just hung on and waited for help. If he doesn't make that play, the Grant has a lot of room to run and an escort in front of him. That was a tremendous play.

3) Kevin Boss recovering the Jacobs fumble at the goal line was HUGE. Jacobs scores on the next play.

4) The fingertip catch by Plaxico where he juggles the ball but hauls it in anyway. He fumbled it on the same play, but the fumble went out of bounds so it didn't hurt us. With a ball that was probably a rock, the degree of difficulty on that catch was immense.

I would include the Toomer sideline catch but I think we already have that one covered as an awesome play!

Agree with all of them. Add Hixon's fumble recovery on the punt cause even though that didn't net us any points (I think that was the second fg miss) that could've ended up REALLY bad.

True! On that play, #24 Jarrett Bush for Green Bay was GOING to recover the football. Actually had it in his hands momentarily. #43 Geoffrey Pope came diving in and swiped it right out of his hands, keeping it alive. That was big by Pope as well.

Gateb: The Hixon return was very much needed at the time! Also a big play!

Dude, I remember 1, 2, and 4 as they just happened a minute ago.. When Webster made that remarkable tackle, I honestly thought I should just order my authentic #23...

When Perice stood his ground and made the cheeseheads move horizontally.... shit.. I can't explain the feeling...

Plax was a superstar... hands down.

And now I remember the fumble recovery...

That was Michael Johnson (our other 7th round pick) that made that play. I was going to post this myself. Pope is number 33 I think.

Yeah, that absolutley was Johnson.

I remember #2 of the orig. list the most. That was the most astounding play of the evening, being able to make that stop on Grant while taking the blocker with him. Friggin amazing.

I stand corrected. Great play by Johnson!

how about pierce taking on three blockers and ryan grant on that one screen play to prevent a TD

Uh, that was #2! Awesome play though! I really think that was the defensive play of the game, all due respect to Corey Webster!

Aaron Ross had another awesome tackle that caused the WR to drop the ball. Remember the low hit he put on that just leveled the receiver in the flat? It was awesome. I think Aaron Ross is gathering a reputation for being a big hitter!:rock::rock: :worshippy:

He certainly has a knack for sticking his shoulder into the ball carriers hip and knocking him off his feet. I love watching him make those plays.

Yeah, thats #2 on the list, and I think it was only 1 blocker while he tackled Grant, but I'll watch it again to make sure.

I think there were three blockers in the screen originally and only one picked up Piece as he was slicing in. Huge play.
