The Giants today put rookie safety Craig Dahl on injured reserve and signed defensive back Geoffrey Pope off their practice squad. Dahl tore his anterior cruciate ligament covering a kickoff in the first quarter of Saturdays loss to New England. A free agent from North Dakota State, he played in nine games with two starts this season. He had 18 tackles on defense (10 unassisted) and five special teams tackles (all solo).

Pope has spent the entire season on the Giants practice squad. He was signed as a rookie free agent by the Miami Dolphins on May 3, 2007 and released on Sept.1 at the end of training.

Pope played two seasons at Eastern (2003-04) before playing two seasons at Howard University (2005-06). In two years with the Bison, he totaled 79 tackles and four interceptions. A Detroit native, Pope was born on June 21, 1984.
