Eli Manning...

Recommended Posts

I think I might be noticing a trend with Eli... does he throw better when his feet aren't set, an he's either rolling out, stepping up in the pocket, or sliding to his right?

His TD to Plax was on a rollout, and if I remember correctly he was moving forward on the Boss TD as well... and there were numerous other throws where he was throwing on the move last night that were completed.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed the same thing? Could the secret to Eli's shitty play be revealed?

I think when he is moving he turns his brain off and just throws instead of overthinking every piece of his motion.

good then we set him up in a deep shotgun every time and let him run up to the line every time he wants to throw . the set back is that Jacobs will have to run 15 yards to get to the LOS :P

Then lets just run all our offensive plays out of the punting formation. If Jacobs is getting the ball just direct snap it to him.

Seems to me he throws better when he is protected well. I was happy to see the good throws on the move though.

God did he look good last night.

Pump fakes, not forcing anything, great throws.

Where the hell has this been?

The pick was bad and the clock management was iffy but I'm thrilled.

The key is protection. When he gets good protection he is great but when he gets rushed then the wheels come off. When the thread popped up about Eli being easily intimidated most people scoffed. He does and when the heat got turned up in the mid 3rd quarter Eli the cluster fuck emerged. Fumble, stupid timeout, int and duck balls. Also that 2 minute speed drill needs a lot of time in practiced. That was yet again a no hurry offense last night.

It seemed to me that we were just in a no huddle cause Eli kept looking to the sideline like someone else was calling the plays.

What is with all this Clock management BS? They knew that they were going to have to try an onsides kick, does 20 seconds make a difference in that case?

That drive started from 68 yards out with 4:36 left. There's a slim possibility we could've gotten a score in better time and still had the two min warning with two time outs. We wouldn't have had to onside kick in that case.

But that's all mute considering our d could no longer stop brady and co.

it kinda looked like eli was throwing side arm on some of his plays too.

i read in a book last week that during the 06 season he wanted to revert back to his college throwing ways which was more 3/4 but hufnagel wouldnt let him.

He already gets enough tipped passes as it is.

Well, he picked a good time to get hot.

I simply hope he can ride this "momentum" through the playoffs.... Really, if he can keep this up we are serious contenders... Go Opie!!!!!!

Do you think that if Peyton wins a second SB this year he'll want to quit playing and come be our OC?

I know you're joking...but that would be good for Eli. I would also want Archie as the QB coach and Olivia baking cupcakes for him and giving him a kiss on the forehead before each game.

I am joking, but I truly think Peyton could quickly become the best OC in football.

not many superstars end up as assistant coaches. it's too much work for them. he could be an exception and you're right, he already is the OC. There's a cardboard cutout of Tom Moore that they fasten to the turf before the game.

This is kinda the way Ive been talkin about Eli. To me, it seems like he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but has natural Manning ability. Meaning, when givin time to think/throw, he does the most retarded things aside from the dropped passes that were drilled right into the rec chest. But when we're down in the 4th quarter or he's scrambling etc, he's awesome. If thats not it, he baffles me.
