... was just mentioned on SNY as a piece of a package that might land Santana. They say the Mets offered Gomez, Humber, and Fernando Martinez (?). Not sure if Martinez was the 3rd player, but I'm pretty sure that's what I heard. Anyway, they were saying that the Twins "were listening", and mentioned that Oliver Perez being added to the deal would entice Minny since he's already "major league ready".

It's a pipedream, and that proposal doesn't come close to Boston's, but hey, at least it's something to talk about.

I rather not move Gomez and Martinez, just one of them but if that is what it takes, then so be it and we can sign a Colon someone similar. As long as Reyes is not in this deal I will settle.

I agree about Gomez and Martinez. This is why we should have held on to Milledge a little longer. Anyway, I just found this...

Bostons offer is a joke, a package of Gomez, Ollie, Martinez and Humber is just as good, if not better than the hose job package the red sox have on the table. If the Twins are serious about the Red Sox package then they should strongly consider trading with the mets.

One would think that trading Santana out of the AL would be an ideal move, so if the deal is even why not the Mets?

For some reason I thought Ellsbury and Buchholz were in the same package.

And I was also wrong about Gomez and Martinez being packaged together. I don't think the Mets would do that.
