Nesta
Ease up there...Jeez. I went to the game today. Once again the problem was our defense. I don't know if Romo is just really that good or if our defense sucks. We just could not get our hands on him. Let's face it...Dallas is one of the top two teams in the whole NFC. We hung with them straight up in the first half. Our defense cannot give up 30 points a game. And you cannot expect our offense to output 33 points every game? That's a lot of points. We should have had 27 points and would've had the 3 points when we went for it on 4 and 2 at the end. My offense scores thirty fucking points against the top NFC east team and we can't win??? Who's fault is that really? Don't mind him, he's a self-loathing fan. He'd rather be right about his 8-8 prediction than see us go 11-5. God knows he's posted it about 500 times already. Clarence the Blue Puppet
No Romo's first year was Parcell's 3rd. Was '05 starting strong and finishing weak? Does anyone remember that year besides myself? You guys act like this collapse is an every year deal, because that's what the media is feeding you. No team in the NFL would have finished any better with all those injuries in '06. And suddenly we're destined for the same just because the media says so. If sports media has taught me anything, it's that they are WRONG 99% of the time. The sports media is made of 2 kinds of people. Unathletic, uncoordinated idiots who can't play any sports but want so bad to be part of the sporting world that they got a degree in writing so they could become sports writers and then tell everybody what the guys who CAN play are doing wrong. The other half is made up of former players who, most of them weren't really popular as players, so they get hired as an "analyst" in hopes of making the money and gaining the spotlight by telling you their "expert' opinion with no more accuracy than the local weather man. GorillaNJ
What makes Dallas a good team? Every call going their way? Someone said it in another thread, two penalties that didn't go to Dallas way, Gmen win this game..... hence our Gmen suck. They had this game in hand and blew it. When I watch Dallas they do not look all that good. Maybe they are the best team in the NFC, but the NFC Blows. When I watch them they do not impress me at all TO is one hell of a player and makes Romo what he is.
Gspotter
We lost to a better team. Our D is generally good, but not good enough and Eli is just not a gunslinger; he's a game-manager. Don't feel bad chums, I have his jersey, so does my son, and he was very expensive to us; a lot like Dilfer was to the Bucs way back when. As long as Eli's here, we'll beat mediocre teams and lose to good one's. He hasn't been decisively impressive since that last minute Denver win a few seasons ago. Also, our Four Aces package isn't effective against the Cowboys. Time for a new strategy. I'd just as soon give them the underneath stuff and keep it contained rather that the go-for-broke strategy that hasn't worked twice. I think our D did a marvelous job containing the run and negating Witten, but let's come back down to earth: Sam Madison is old. We need to clone Ross about 5 times and that's that! Also, Eli's management of the game perplexed me like never before. And finally, the lack of urgency in the final portion of the game (walking to the line, etc.) mystified me. It's as if the team said, there's no way we could tie it up in the last 2 and a half minutes of the game. I actually feel badly for Coughlin because Eli is going to be the death of him. Prepare your daggers now, "I'd still rather have ridden Kerry Collins through; he could play big in big games and his major flaw was playing small in small games." Ah the time has passed though and now we have but to wait for a few seasons until Eli is more clearly understood by the owners and then we can burn EA in effigy. NightFire
So what happened in the Superbowl? D wins championships. This whole Henny Penny bit on this MB is ridiculous sometimes. Every time the Giants win they are the best ever and every loss is by the worst team in football. The Giants almost won and had game losing penalties and blown coverages that were exposed. The Cowboys took advantages of Giants mistakes and if you check the stats the Giants played just as well and if not better (only 20 yards less, 10 more minutes of possession, less penalties). As Gspotter stated also Eli does not seem to be much of a leader. What was with the last drive? It looked liked nobody really cared and were just going through the motions. Somebody needs to get Eli some energy drinks or cocaine to get him to wake up.
