THE OFFICIAL LIST OF "BAD LISTS"

Recommended Posts

There are thousands of reasons the Cowboys lost to the Seahawks and they would have still lost had they converted the PAT.

No, I don't want Romo out if he botches the hold. Yes, I want Romo out if he throws the ball to Pacman Jones with the game on the line. Yes, I want Romo out if he throws 3 consecutive INTs in a home playoff game...

In all honesty who cares, the games will play themselves out. SOme advice I have for you though is that when you get into these titty twisting rants you stay consistent. Your posts are littered with contradictions. I see three in this make no sense post.

Let me get this straight? It's ok to throw the ball to Brian Dawkins at home with the game and division on the line, but its not ok to throw it to Pac Man Jones?

Egg is all over the map with this Romo thing. First he wants Romo....then IF Romo throws 3 picks in a playoff game he wants Romo out? Can someone get Egg a point!!!! A 'base' to stand on? Is he really a Dallas fan?

My posts are not inconsistent. I never said that it was acceptable for Romo to throw the ball to Dawkins. Where did I say that? That is unacceptable. I am not going to defend it.

Romo played well enough last season to get an opportunity to start this season. If he is as inaccurate this season as Eli is, or if he plays as poorly as a QB in a playoff game as Eli has, I want Romo out at the end of this season. Period.

I am not going to defend Romo if he plays poorly. I don't have to. Remember, the Cowboys didn't sell the farm to San Diego to get him... :LMAO: (Someone explain this last part to Big Blue) Thanks...

I understand that you have to come here and cite bad things because well .... thats what you are here for is to rile up the Giant fan, and thats ok. You keep it clean, do not get personal and probably are just having some fun. What you never seem to do is cite the good things, or even acknowledge them for that matter. You beat that Titans game to death, ad naseum when in all honesty an even mediocre defense holds that lead and they win that game. You seem to not remember that ELI threw a game tying TD, on the road in the 4th quarter at Philly(a team whom beat the Giants and the BOYS for the 06 div) with 6 minutes to go and his team was unable to get him back the ball. There have been plenty good moments and there have been some very bad ones as well.

I err on the side of caution, although I do not think its a slam dunk that Manning turns it on to All Pro level immediately, I do think he can continue to get better and become a winning QB. Like many Qb's though he will need the parts around him to play better as well. Its a rare few that can overcome such defficiencies with their defense, ST's and WR injuries and one thing I can dfinitely say after 2 seasons as a starter is that ELI is not one of those rare few.

I think that YOU should read what they said about Eli this year. But how can I point out what Aikman is saying this year (as an announcer: because it was YOU that said "listen to what Announcers are saying about Eli"). Would ya like me to pull up YOUR exact quote??? Because unlike you, I have never heard any announcer say "Eli is mediocre". But I have to keep drilling it thru your 'head' that I can't post what the ANNOUNCERS are saying about Eli for this year because the season hasn't started yet. Hence the article being Almost a year ago. How would I find 2007's announced games??? Anyway let's keep it simple. Troy Aikman (for example) announced Giants games in 2006, correct? I quoted ONE of many comments by Troy from 2006, correct? If AND when Troy says something to the effect of Eli and Mediocre...I'll be the first to find it for 2007, ok??

Let's see, Randolf. You either don't read or can't read...

I never used the term "announcer" which you have capatalized above, I'm assuming in an attempt to make some type of point. I used the term sports "commentator." It's silly that I have to waste time doing this, but in an attempt to have a meaningful discussion, Webster's dictionary defines the word commentator as " a person who provides a commentary on an event" or "the writer of a commentary" or "a person who writes or speaks on current events." Hence, a sports commentator writes and speaks on sporting events or sports issues.

Are you with me? Good. Now for the important part:

People who write for the NFL website, ESPN, and CNNSI, qualify as sports commentators. In this post, I have listed the things that these sports commentators are saying about Eli THIS YEAR. In two separate lists, Eli is ranked 22 and 23 among NFL QBs. When your QB is ranked this low, the sports commentators are really saying that he is MEDIOCRE. In another article, Peter King (Sports commentator) says it is 50-50% that Eli is the future Giants QB and that the Giants should sign Culpepper. He is saying that Eli's performance, thus far, is MEDIOCRE. Finally, Eli made a list of the LEAST fun athletes to watch, in part, because of his accurracy problems. I don't think I need to explain this one...But, if you appear on this list, you are MEDIOCRE...

Interestingly, no one is suggesting that Culpepper could compete for the Cowboys's starting job and Romo is ranked above Eli in most of these articles.

What the sports commentators are saying, so far, THIS YEAR, is that Eli's time to prove himself is rapidly running out.

Everyone was on Eli's bandwagon last preseason, including Aikman. But this was, of course, before Eli stunk up the joint another season...

Boy, the Chargers look smarter and smarter every day...

I don't disagree with much of what you say. The point of this thread was not to get into an Eli debate. I am just listing Bad Lists for Giants fans, since most of you feel persecuted by the media every summer. Eli just happens to be on these list and I have been responding to those that go to absurd lengths to defend him. You seem to be more realistic...

LMFAO!!!!! :LMAO:

I knew youd realize that you tried to say I contradict myself, and when it was pointed out that you do, you bring me into it!! LOL!!!!

No they didnt, and they also havent won a playoff game with Romo either, much like the Gmen and Eli. The only difference is, Eli has played 2 full seasons, Romo a half a season, and he STILL threw 13 picks. That averages out to 26 picks in a season, Eli has had 18 the last two. Eli played real good against Philly, he had better #'s than Garcia, just didnt get the win. So, like stated previously....WHATS YOUR POINT??

nah I never pay attention to the media in the summer. SOme last year picked the Giants to win the NFC so that shit goes out the window.

I think one thing that is an X factor in all this in terms of ELI and his ratings/rankings whatever is that many in the media did not like the way the SD thing went down. It was very similar for Elway from 83-86 as well. If Manning was say simply a first round pick, 10th overall by the Cards and they made the playoffs in each of his first 2 years as a starter, my guess is the way that the "experts" look at and portray him would be quite different. Nonetheless that was the choice that ELI made and he has to handle that pressure now. Its funny though, last year at 6-2, when ELI's rating was like 96, his Tds were at 15 and the Ints were 5 the exact opposite was being said. Its almost like the media loves trashing him, but at the first sign of some sort of sustained success they suck his dick lke his brothers right away, for fear of being wrong about what they say when things are not so good.

As for Peter King, apparently there was a rumor flying around that some in the Manning family have asked him to be critical of ELI in hopes that it lights a fire under his ass. Not sure if its true, but I cannot imagine he sucks Peytons cock so much and expects to get anything from Peyton when he trashes his brother like that.

You make a good point about the way the trade occurred and your Cardinal's analogy is very accurrate. What would trouble me, if I were a Giants fan, is some of the accurracy problems he has had, especially given the talent ( at skill positions) that has surrounded him. Protection has been a problem but he also misses more than he should when he has time. Eli also strikes me as someone who would play better on a team that is not under intense scrutiny ( as all NY teams are) and with players that are more low key (which Shockey and Burress are not).

I don't put much stock in the experts, including King. But I will add to list and see what happens next.

Have you and your alter ego realized that NO ONE agrees with you??

LOL!!!! Yeah, please, stay asleep. :TU:

As oppossed to the masses that have come out to support your thoughts...Shocking to the Dog that on a Giant's message board, there would be little support for someone who doesn't state that the Giants do everything well and will win Super Bowls...The Dog states opinion based on fact...not being a Giant fans allows for objective thought, as oppossed to you who states in capital letters that Jacobs will be a beast based on the fact that he did OK the past two seasons as a short yardage specialist...

As for Badegg, the Dog will not speak for him, but would wager that as a cowboys fan, he most likely had to know that he would not often be agreed with on a giants message board...but you will have to ask him...

I list these articles and let the Giants fan make of them what they wish. What I find humerous is that almost every season, the Giants fans complain about negative pres season articles. Yet, these articles are typically proved to be accurate by the end of the season. While I do not believe that these articles prove anything right now , I do find it interesting that so far, this season, many of the so-called experts appear to unimpressed with the 2007 Giants. Likewise, I am unimpressed. They are also putting Eli under a microscope.

QUOTE(BadEgg @ Jun 29 2007, 12:09 PM)

I'm not lying to myself by calling Eli mediocre. Many commentators agree. In fact, many Giants fans have seen enough. Your own fan base is divided.

Regular season stats don't matter when you play that poorly at home in the playoffs. What was it? Three interceptions on three consecutive possessions, a lost fumble and no points...Give me a break. It's not like Eli didn't have talent around him. Shockey...Buress...Barber...

Randoff said:

"Wrong again. The point that commentators made about Eli, including your boy Aikman was that Eli shows flashes of brilliance. NOT once did I hear any commentator refer to Eli as 'mediocre'....not ONCE!!!!

Like I said 3 pages ago SAYING a QB is mediocre and assuming that he is mediocre are TWO different things. Mediocre was NEVER said by any COMMENTATOR. Here we go 'round in circles and I LIKE it ESSE!

P.S. I like your attempt at having a 'meaningful discussion'. It truly pleases me that you too can be civil.

Ok???

Now let me ask you a question. If Tony Romo's completion percentage fell to 57.7 or below...would YOU want Tony Romo out? And now that Tony Romo is under a little 'scrutiny' being the named starter, do you think that he can honestly help your team win their FIRST playoff game in a while?

I am not going to defend Romo if he plays poorly. I don't have to.

I want Romo out - - PERIOD!

Just had to retype that one. Now let's see....Dateline 2006 playoffs, NFC type...

Romo: One playoff game, one loss. 17 for 29 for 189 yds. Completion pct. 58.6%

Eli: Same situation, one loss in 2006. 16 for 27 for 161 yds. Completion pct. 59.3%

Now you say "Eli played poorly" in this playoff game yet he connected 59.3% of the time huh? Do you consider that "innacurate"? Because IF you do....do ya consider 58.6% "innacurate" also? BTW the 58.6% is less than what Eli completed during the playoffs. Now my question is: Do you still want Romo out?

**Note Jeff Garcia in his 2 playoff appearances completed 52.5% of his passes**

My my, that's strong evidence in your lack of confidence in your team. They would've lost if they had taken a lead with 1:14 left in the game? That's not even counting the time elapsed in the kickoff. What a fan you are. You have no right to be here.:LMAO:

Let me explain something to you. Everyone in the world knows this, except you. Tony Homo cost you that game.

Period. Even Tony Homo knows this.

Matt Hasselbeck knows this. He wasn't exactly having a stellar night. And you have no doubt he was gonna come right back and shove it down your throat with a minute and change??

He was 50% 2tds 2ints. Where's your loyalty? Or are you just lying to yourself to make a stupid point on a message board.

Lets not forget that Eli played against one the best second in the league, while Romo played an injured infested seattle secondary. Oh wait, I forgot...Romo played with a slick ball.

Dude, I live in Dallas, and trust me when I tell you many of the experts here have express their concerns on whether Romo is the guy to win them a SB. In fact, I know of two experts here that have said they would pick Eli over Romo.

And they bring up some good points too...

One being that Eli played a much harder schedule than Romo....

Second, Giants had alot more injuries than the Cowboys....

Lets not forget that when these two teams first met. The Giants was up by 21 points until the Cowboys scored a meaningless TD against our second stringers. In the second game, the Giants were out 8 starters, the Cowboys could only manage a 3 point win. I know, I know badegg, a win is a win.

What gets me the most, is some people are sold on Homo after playin only half a season and only about 3 of those games were worth talking about.

Good to see you, Nemisis. But you're jumping in late and missing the point on this thread. This is my bad list thread, but it has turned into an Eli thread because, as you can see, Eli keeps appearing on the bad lists.

I am not a blind pumper of Romo, like many Giants fans are with Eli. I believe Romo played well enough to be the starter this year. I also believe that the Cowboys have put themselves in a position where they may have to extend his contract before this season. But, if Romo's play at QB costs them a playoff birth this season, or a playoff game this season, I want him out.
