One week 'till the draft...

Certain people will be gone, but who would you like to get most who could realistically be available?

I'd love to see:

1. Paul Posluzny (or however it's spelled)... great work ethic, toughness, smarts, drive, and instincts. His bad 40 time hopefully has him fall to us.

2. Joe Staley - think I'd take him over Levi Brown due to his fantastic work ethic, upside, and smarts.

I'd be happy with either of those two guys, or Revis.

I'd like to see the Giants draft Mathias Kiwanuka and pick up S Moss in the second round.

Just kidding....

But I'm a believer in that cliche 'pick the BEST available player' despite the position he plays. Typically teams pick better talent from the later rounds.

Shake, If Staley or PP is available at 20 I think I take one of them 1st RD. We have had bad luck over the years with DBs in the 1st rd. Obviously you have done your homework.

What? There is nobody worth drafting at #20 when it comes around. Why not drop down, get a couple more pics and take a good possession receiver (which we are in need of)? At least he'll wear a visor that you wont have to photoshop in. ;)

Why would I want a WR that ran a 4.75 in the 40... We need someone who can stretch the field. Do you realize this man is slower than some of our DE? But once again, fans and the front office fail to realize that this team needs more overall team speed..Especially on defensive side of the ball.

I understand speed isn't everything, and we can't have the fastest guys in every position. But Jesus Christ, can we have at leasthave a little of it. Can we have a CB that runs at least a 4.5, and that isn't 5' - 5"? My God!

Nevermind...I'm just waiting my time here. Continue...Hey, I hear Eric Frampton ran a 4.70. Not bad for DB...He's perfect for this team.

Yeah, we need another Tim Carter. Hey, does a guy name Sinorice Moss ring a bell when you think stretch the field?

Besides, when did 40 times EVER really matter? Throw out that combine warrior shit, it means jack. Think Colston.

You'd be a fool not to be happy with aquiring Jarret and 2 more pics in this deep defensive draft.

You're right, speed means nothing. And then you wonder what's wrong with our secondary.... :TU: You should apply for a position in the Giants front office. You'll fit right in...

You're a fool. Heres a couple more names you might want to remember with speed in the secondary. Will Allen and William Peterson. Yeah, you're right, speed means everything in DBs.

I thought we were talking wr's anyway? A.D.D. ?

My point is this team more speed every where, including the WR, DB, LB positions. But you made your point...Speed didn't much for L.T, Reggie White, Dion Sanders, Tim Brown, Randy Moss, Champ Bailey, Joey Porter, M. Strahan, Cliff Branch, T. Davis, Marshall Faulk, Marvil Harrison, Chad Johnson, Steve Smith, Rod Woodson, Ray Lewis, Sean Taylor, Brian Dawkins, Warrick Dunn, Fred Taylor, Warren Sapp, J. Peppers, D. Freeney, D. Hester, Steven Jackson, Eric Allen, T. Holt, Isaac Bruce, Andre Reed, D'angelo Hall, ...Yep, it did nothing, nada, zip, ziltch for these guys in their respected position.

I vote we package our 1st & 3rd this year with our 1st and 4th next year, move into the top 5 and take Joe Thomas, the best LT since who knows when. Wait...maybe not...does Joe Thomas have an older brother?

LOL. Well, at least the Eli trade wasn't as bad as the Ryan Leaf one.

As far as speed vs. no speed, there are good arguments on both sides. Of course speed is an important part of the game, but for every Deion Sanders, there's a Jerry Rice. Take the best available player.

I wouldn't mind if we traded out of the first round with all the holes we have to fill. We still need a weakside LB, a LT and a corner... not to mention a kicker and change of pace RB/KR.

Yeah...my point was simple, don't sell the fucking farm for anyone. I put a lot of stock in speed/quickness, but not so much that we just draft fast guys....see Tim Carter. Fast guy, but made of glass and not all that great.

I'd be shocked if we went any direction other than LB, LT, CB, or DT in the first 4 rounds this year. I'm not really concerned which position we go with in which round...that's when you have to consider, "Is this CB going to be a better CB than this LB is going to be a LB?"

RB - between Droughns and Jacobs, I think we're okay. We haven't had a RB with breakaway speed for years. Yeah, Tiki had a bunch of 20+ yard runs, but how many of those ended in TDs?

Kicker...if we draft a kicker...I swear to you...

We need to improve our overall team speed. Especially on defense...Fuck it! Most importantly in our secondary.

Again, I think people are missing the big picture here. I understand we can't have the strongest, the biggest, and fastest players in every position. It's not possible, I get that. But what I'm saying is that our overall team speed is horrible and we have to omprove that.

Here goes Nem with his team speed rap again.

Let see, 41 TD's has to get through your thick skull somehow. And at 6'5" can leap well (unlike Plax) you have an insane redzone target. Plus he has much better hands than Bowe, who just had "lasik" and has some drops. The last two first round guys we drafted with eye issues were Thomas Lewis and Cedric Jones. Jarrett is much quicker and more explosive than you think. Keyshawn who's pro production you would gladly take with the #20 pick in a draft. Jarrett will be better than Plax once he develops and teaming him with Plax would be a great thing for Eli.

"Nah, the combine says he slow! Take Tim Carter!!!"
