The hard-hitting Kasparaitis has gotten off to a slow start this season, missing the first five games while recovering from offseason injuries and trying to get back into hockey shape. That has been a slow process, as the 34-year-old Kasparaitis has one assist and 10 penalty minutes in six games this season. He is also a minus-5 for the Rangers, who have stumbled out of the gate with six losses in their first 11 games. Kasparaitis underwent shoulder surgery in May, and then had an operation in June to repair a torn muscle in his side. He was on the ice for three goals against in the Kings' 4-1 victory over the Rangers on Monday night in Los Angeles.
