I was born and raised a Yankees fan and would never stop loving this team no matter how bad it gets, but I can't help but think everytime I watch them play that they do not look like they are having fun. It looks like they are expected to win, the one thing that I loved so much about the team this year was that when Sheffield and Matsui went down we were able to replace them with hard working blue collar players. George is starting to piss me off thinking about firing Torre, I could telly ou right now that if Torre would have been fired I was thinking about becoming a Cubs or a Marlins fan. This is not baseball, it is more of a business; yeah alot of teams run their teams like a business but it seems that the Yankees are robots, we need life new young blood people who give 110%. I know I rambled alot but this is what I am thinking if you can find something in all this bable than go for it.

Their celebration wasn't bad but you are right and even the fans are acting cocky and think it is an automatic that they should win the division. I think installing new young blood in the team is great. Look what happend to the Braves during the playoffs, the fans expected it and their attendance was horrible, you cannot say that about the fans in New York but they are just so cocky and expect it always. I am not saying all fans are like this but there are plenty, just go to the GMB and look through some of those posts. What happens when the Yankees do miss the playoffs? I expect the suicide rate to be really high that year. Yes firing Torre would have been the worst thing to do. Doesn't he have one more year on his contract anyway? Just let it expire, you cannot just fire a coach like that.

It looks like you guys have no team chemistry, out there looking to get paid... its something the Mets have boatloads full of and most successfull teams have. The yankees are full of talent but you just don't win without having fun.

How about the past Rangers teams who missed the playoffs for so many years, especially with the teams with Lindros on it. No chemistry at all, I don't know of a solution.

Melky should start in left this season and not Matsui, Joe does have one more year left on his contract. I am going to be honest with you, I hate Yankee fans to no end they are like Ranger fans they know little to nothing about the sport and how it is played and know even littlier about the team and it's history they just like them because they win. Have a fun time with them at shea, I know this sounds stupid but part of me likes when the Yankees lose, just because I know less and less people are fans of the team.I still wear my 2003 ragedy ass world series hat on my head proudly(I refuse to get another one till they get to series again), I love the team and would not have it any other way, but it bothers me when I see alot of people in my neighborhood wearing Mets appereal(I can tell you, it is an all time high for it).

People in New York love winners, why can't they just stick with their team?:cwy:

"My favorite team of the decade".

Only a Yankee fan can have a favorite team of a decade.

I don't know whether to be jealous or pissed.

I know that feeling. I kind of like it too.

I know I was calling for Torre's head...I just think they need a change and apparently it will be much better if the Yankees change players. We're stuck with a lot of guys but, losing Sheff and Giambi is a start. We need pitchers first and foremost. A-Rod is a distraction and I heard on ESPN that the White Sox might trade Joe Crede and a SP for A-Rod. That sounds tempting...

I think I'd take Crede and Pierzinski for A-Rod, but none of their pitchers.

I also think, as far as team chemistry goes, it’s overrated. Like anything else, word crews don’t need to be buddy buddy as long as they all know what needs to be done to get the job done.

why do you have this man-crush on Pierzinski? anyway, lose a series and people say "they have no heart" win a series and the yankees are "a team of quiet professsionals who act like they've been there before."

it's all so relative.

I would nto trade arod for anyone, I know this sounds stupid but he is still the best player in baseball in my opinion. He has more HR than Hank Aaron did at his age, and has more hits than Pete Rose did at his age. It is all mental once he gets his head back he will be fine, it is weird because it is not like he had a problem in the playoffs with Seattle. It is funny I was speaking to my dad and he said also said that they don't seem excited and happy that they win, it is more like a phew we won no one will bash us now. I think Melky should be starting in left in 2007, he has heart he hustles like nothing and his defense is much better than Matsui.
