  1. Who's gonna trade for a receiver you're not gonna bring back anyway, numnut? Yeah, maybe we can get James Harrison and a 1st rounder for him.
  2. Again, I'm not saying Collins lost the game for them, but if you're the quarterback, and you don't "grab the game by the balls and take it" as you put it, then you're more than a "minimal" reason why your team lost.
  3. I'm gonna guess you bet the Panthers, too. Nobody who's not a fan of the Titans would be whining about the blown call unless they had money on the game. You had to be an idiot to bet Tennessee, anyway, Tubby.
  4. How much did you lose on the game, crybaby?
  5. I guess you two are kindered spirits, in that neither of you can control your drinking.
  6. Don't tell that to SoCal. Apparently he's got a man crush on him.
  7. Not sure how that translates to "It was all on Collins", but again, he didn't play well at all and there were plays he could've made that would've put his team in a better position to win the game. Some he made, many he didn't.
  8. Always liked him (not in a Plow man crush way , but just as a player), and was really bummed that he didn't win a championship as a Giant, but in the end it was all for the better. After watching today's game, I'd have to say he may not have the guts to win the big one. He looked scared in the 2nd half, very tentative. He was bailing out of plays by throwing the ball away and threw off his back foot a million times. Nice guy, but not a winner. Tennessee completely choked that game away.
  9. Because he's a Scott Boras client, and Scott Boras's clients always go to the highest bidder. Besides, that's not a million or two you're talking about, it's 15 million. I don't care how much you make or are worth, 15 million bucks is a lot of money, and nobody's gonna turn it down for the sake of tradition or history. The people reporting that he had a much higher offer from the Nats are probably the same people who reprted that Damon had an offer of 7 years and 80 million, but signed with the Yankees for 4 and 52 because he "always wanted to be a Yankee" (hmmm...another Scott Boras client). I completely agree with you when you say you don't mind guys saying "It's neat to be a part of the Yankee organization." There's a big difference between that and saying, "I've always wanted to be a Yankee." What they mean is, they've always wanted to be a high paid Yankee.
  10. I was being sarcastic when I said I was surprised they had to pay him so much, seeing as its been his life-long dream to be a Yankee As if he would've settled for a dime less from the Yankees if the Nationals offered more. I seem to remember it being his life-long dream to be an Oriole when they were still in the bidding. And don't get me wrong- it ain't just Texeira. I understand how the game is played, and how these guys have to say the right things, and believe me I would too if it meant millions of dollars in my pocket. But it gets tiresome hearing these guys babble on about Yankee pinstripes after the check is in the bank. It's about Yankee dollars, and nothing more.
  11. I'm surprised they paid Texeira as much as they did. After all, they were his "first choice all along" (I'm sure if the Orioles were willing to pony up $225 million, he still would've had a tough decision in front of him, what with his love of Don Mattingly and everything), and- get this- his wife said, "I want you to be a Yankee." And you know how much Scott Boras values the wife's input in these negotiations. Oh yeah, I almost forgot- Brian Cashman was a super nice guy to him during the negotiations, too (translation- he wrote a lot of 0s on a check).
  12. Maybe to a fan of the Cowb...uh, I mean, not the Cowboys, but some other unnamed team that the dog roots for, but not me. I believe Jeremy Shockey would be in this Romanowski league that the dog speaks of, and I never liked the guy, and didn't feel the need to hide it. He was a chump, just like Romanowski, and some guys you don't have to be a fan of, even if they're on your team. I cheered when Shockey made a nice play, which was rarely, because he was on my team, but I wouldn't buy his jersey for my kids or cheer for his idiotic celebrations. I also wouldn't put Rivers in this league either, yet.
  13. We can't play Minny until the conference championship. They will play Carolina no matter what if they beat Philly. We could play Arizona or Atlanta, though, and I would love either one of those games.
  14. While Carr's performance was definitely encouraging, I wouldn't go ahead and annoint him the next John Elway, either. It was a meaningless game when it all comes down to it, not a playoff game.
  15. If I'm coming at it from the Jets' standpoint, I definitely don't go with Marty Schottenheimer, which is the latest rumor making the rounds. Cowher has reportedly told the Browns that he is not interested in coaching at this point. He would be the logical guy for the Jets to go after, but if he's not available, that really limits their options. There's been talk of Parcells coming back, and you have to be intrigued considering the Dolphins' turnaround this year. Spagnuolo would be an interesting guy, but I really think they need to go with an experienced coach at this point. All in all, I can see the Jets ending up with Schottenheimer. That would just be the typical Jet move.
  16. Any more arguments with BadEgg about this point are nothing but insults to Eli. The argument has been settled by the players themselves. End of discussion.
  17. Yeah, I think we've gotta start trying to kick those rainbows to the 15-20 yard line like we started doing in the 2nd half. I'd settle for giving it to the other team at the 30 at this point, as long as it's not the 40.
  18. This has got to improve. I have a bad feeling that it will end up costing us big if we don't get it fixed. Hurts to lose a game like that, with a team taking advantage of us removing our starters. But TC did the right thing, and I don't think it'll effect this team at all. Carr looked good should something happen to Eli, god forbid.
  19. Get 'em now. They only figure to become a lot more exoensive if the Giants make it. You should shop around with as many brokers as you can find. Be prepared to spend at least $1,500.
  20. I really can't understand why the Yanks aren't being more aggressive with Texiera. He makes you better defensively and gives you a good defensive first baseman for the first time in a looooong time. He also replaces Giambi's/Abreu's production, and protects ARod. Not only that, but if they go after him instead of Manny, they kill two birds with one stone- the Sox don't get Texiera, and they can't get Manny either.
  21. I believe he'll get it, or close to it. The last numbers being thrown around were 160 mil for 8 years, and that was a week ago, before the Yankees allegedly got involved and teams were reportedly one-upping each other. The Red Sox have to sign this guy, even if it does create another problem for them with Lowell. I think it's a major mistake by the Yanks if they don't do whatever it takes to get him. I know they might feel like they have Manny to fall back on, and it sounds like they're starting to focus on him (although there are rumors flying all over the place at this point in the free agency process), but Manny makes them really weak defensively, especially if they don't get Cameron (and even then, he'd be repalcing Melky, who was their best defensive OF anyway). I just don't see how they'd function with Manny, Damon, Matsui for one OF spot and DH, plus Nady and a CF.
  22. Hughes looked very good in that last start he had this year after coming back up (vs. Toronto, I believe). I heard he got off to a rough start in the AFL, but it looked like his numbers there were very good in the end. Just waiting now for the Yanks to throw 250 mil at Texeira, as I know they will.
  23. Eagles. I was more worried about them than either the Cowboys or Skins.
  24. High school pitchers know that you don't throw at guys' heads once, and if you do it three times you're just a total asshole.
  25. I was following that game on the computer and saw that it was 4th & 1 from the 25 and thought about that, but I really don't think you can go for it in that situation. First of all, I don't know if it was a long yard or a short yard, but if you don't make it, you're basically giving the game away, and a tie, while it sucks, is better than a loss.
