  1. Everything hinges on what Washington does at 2.

Speaking of, heard on ESPN's NFL Live that there was tension between Daniels and Washington. Like he wasn't a "fit" despite his talent, just didn't get along with whoever. Of course, the next sentence was, "but that was all resolved over the weekend", so who the Hell knows.

If they build the rest of the team first they will be improved just enough to be out of reach of Manning(is he even going to play this year anyway?)

There's just so much talent across the board this year I don't think trading away picks, future picks, is a good idea. Use them now, make a trade, maybe 2 for some more, and grab some decent players. They don't have to be superstars but it just seems like there are many guys out there who could be here for years, this year.

The pundits are going batshit crazy over this year's QB class, but I just don't see 4 HOF QB's in this class. I'd like us to be in the "damn, wish we made moves like the Giants did" in future conversations for a change.

And as for Manning, it's a pipe dream, but it's my pipe dream. :LMAO:

Of course, I have hope every year and absolutely nothing has come of it, LOL, so what do I know? Can't wait for Thursday dude.

I could live with the QB draft... but I really like the second draft.  I like the Jimmy Johnson/Bill Belichick method of banking picks and then swing for the fences next year.

Yeah, this. Kinda. I'd like them to build the rest of the team and then blow their wad on a qb. I still hold out hope for Manning in '26.

Wilson and a few others who are projected 2nd rounders (Pearsall, Franklin, McConkey) might end up with more productive careers than the top 10 or top 20 WRs in this draft.

Any of those guys would be great in the 2nd if available. Wouldn't mind a trade down to 11-15 for Bowers in the 1st then taking a WR in the 2nd, assuming we can't get Jayden Daniels.

I'd love to see us get Denver's 1st this year and 1st next year in this trade scenario, setting us up for a high QB draft pick next year.

  5. I like that Pratt kid too. He may not be Mahomes or Stroud but I think if he's coached right he could be a mobile Eli.

I wouldn't be upset moving down a few spots, picking up that extra 2nd we gave away for Burns, taking Alt or Bowers, a WR like Wilson, and Pratt in the 2nd. I think there's a lot of talent in this draft at different positions and with all our holes I think we could build something surprisingly good from the later rounds.

….I’m pretty light on prospect knowledge this year though. Of the handful of guys I’ve watched, my pick for surprise top prospect bust is….. Caleb Williams. I think he’s going to be more Jameis Winston than Patrick Mahomes.

Yup, same here. I think it has more to do with Chicago than his talent. I think years down the road it'll be JJ who has the best career out of the bunch regardless of where he ends up initially.

    Who's that?

That's Copizzle for shizzle. Years ago SoCal found him on Youtube I think and invited him here. I thought he was a Cowboys fan though. I think he was trying to build some kind of mafia following like the Bills Mafia or some shit.

Penix is gonna go top 15 because there are more QB needy teams who aren't gonna be able to get the top 3.

Giants, Raiders, Vikings, Broncos and maybe even the Cowboys are all gonna be looking hard at McCarthy, Penix, Nix.

I think I am on the trade back to 11-15 range and just take Penix...but the injuries scare the shit outta me

In that case, just wait it out and take Pratt or Rattler in the 3rd.

My hope is that McCarthy is there at 6 and we entertain the bidding war between the Vikings, Broncos, Raiders...would be nice to be the team raking someone else over the coals for once.

Yeah, I'd kinda like to trade down a few spots for an extra 2nd and maybe a 3rd if someone is really desperate. Then figure out a way to get Alt and Bowers or a 2nd round WR for Jones to throw to, and Pratt (maybe Rattler) in the 3rd. Maybe a higher end RB with the 2nd 2nd. I don't think this is our year for a franchise QB, and I don't think there are 4 franchise QB's this year either. Williams is going to be a bust in Chi Town until he is traded away like Fields (who will flourish under Tomlin after Wilson retires). In the end I think it is JJ who will be the best of the 4 come years down the road.

We're not going to pay Jones $40 million to sit the year out, I don't care what the pundits cook up. We're going to have to build a line made of serious Iowa beefcake to keep him upright and avoid paying him that '25 guarantee if he gets hurt. Build up the team as a whole enough to show improvement and pull us out of the cellar, then go for the franchise QB in '26 with Arch Manning.

  10. I don't get the hate of Mahomes. Kids a legit talent, and amazing to watch. Brady either. We beat him in the games most important game. Twice. But I'm a Yankee fan so I do understand people hating winners. Well, at least past winners.

And Eli, well I guess if some rookie told the Giants he was too good for us I'd have a hate on for him too so, I guess in a roundabout way I'd pick Eli in that scenario.

  11. Yeah, it's all head games and strategy up until the actual day. I don't think he's a head case, I just hope it's not a reverse Eli situation except this time we're stuck with a disgruntled player before we even pick him.

I'll never forget that look on Eli's face when the Chargers took him and he actually thought he was gonna have to play there.

    How so? Just curious.

The "That's a decision that's going to have to be placed when I hear my name called" part. Like he would try and get out of being drafted by us. I could absolutely be wrong, I didn't see his expression or hear his voice inflection, or any of that. Just going off the text it sounds like he thinks he has some decision to make, that's all.

  13. Quote

LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers when asked about the idea of being drafted by the Giants in the 2024 NFL Draft:

"That's a decision that's going to have to be placed when I hear my name called. I don't know where I'm going. Going to New York, it wouldn't be a bad idea. The quarterback situation, I know they're going to figure it out, especially if they have a caliber receiver coming like me. They're going to want to get me the ball, so I'm sure they're going to want to have a quarterback that can do that."

We all said the same kind of thing about Barkley not having an Oline when we drafted him. I don't know why, but this just sounds a little arrogant to me.
