  1. I was looking for exactly that picture myself....was going to add it to my signature. That's how I ended up on da Bears board after googling and started the other thread. I can't believe a photographer somewhere didn't catch that moment. It deserves to be someone's signature pic.
  2. More Chatter (ESPN blog): Thread title: Was Farve interception worst decision in NFL history? - "A veteren QB with the SuperBowel on the line plays the gunslinger and makes an ill-advised throw a pass while scrambling away from pressure. I thought I was watching Tony Romo". - "Favre's 5 pix vs. Rams and ot pic vs. Eagles a few years ago are far more culpable than yesterday's play. Why the dig at Romo? He pounded the Giants twice and the pack already this year. Sore loser, perhaps". - "yea. how'd that work out for ya when it mattered?" - "Where is Jayhere? I figured he'd be here defending Favre (the object of his creepy man crush). Well, if Jay disappears for 8 months then I am glad the Giants won, even though I wanted to see a Packers Pats SB". - "Worst decision?? I refer you to Neil O'Donnell" - "The two golden boys didnt play very well in the championship games. Worst decision doubt it Nick Collins decision to deck eli was the worst decision in NFL HISTORY" - ""Worst Decision in NFL History?" stop trying to bust ba11s man--you know it wasn't. it was one of the worst decisions in the game last night....but that's about all" - "this is where the Giant D coaches won the game....they did not blitz Favre and allowed him to hang himself. he is GREAT at making stuff outta nothing but has little patience and will force the ball....the pack should have been running more...like the SeaChickens the Giants D is best side to side...you need to attack between the tackles. the Pats will do this all game long in 2 weeks" - "Dude, Favre threw the ball to the outside. The ball curved into Webster's hands. It was weird. Angels in the outfield?"
  3. I imagine their (da Bears fans) hatred of the Packers has more to do with it than their sudden climb aboard the jints express. There is no love lost in that triangle that runs from the Windy City to the Twin Cities to the polar regions of Green Bay.
  4. Saw this story on another site and thought it worth posting: “Little Giants” (Count on both RB’s to perform): Most of the casual fans have not heard of Dave Meggett Jr. aka Ahmad Bradshaw, so NY has to work and drive this mini-sized weapon to a win in a game that will be won by the team that chews up the most clock, winning the T.O.P. battle and the all-important rushing edge. Bradshaw, a former member and standout of the Marshall Thundering Herd, is a 5-foot 9 inch, 198-pound lightning quick RB that displays great speed, quickness, patience, elusiveness and vision for the field (all the qualities you’d like in a 3rd down back). He can change a game in an instant and one of his game breaking runs may turn out to be the difference maker. The little-known Bradshaw holds the mark for the 2nd longest rushing TD in the NFL (88 yards @ Buffalo) and would not surprise me if he surprises Green Bay with another signature long TD run to help the Giants grab the momentum. and maybe more significantly- the game. I sure can see Mr. Bradshaw (Meggett-esque) being the MVP and having Giants fans reminisce of the SB XXV Championship in which they ran the 1-2 combo to perfection, featuring Meggett teamed up with power back Otis Anderson (MVP - Bruiser along the lines of - a la Brandon Jacbos). Jacobs can throw out some knockout punches (up the gut) early on and Bradshaw can finish off the Packers defense with left and right jabs (outside runs/off-tackle) in the 2nd half. We have heard this song once before called “Lightning & Thunder”, so Bradshaw just might pose more problems than you think he would, just don’t underestimate his size and his ability (blazing speed) - he may ignite a “little” Giants victory.
  5. From Sportingnews Blog (a little cleaner talk when not reading eagles/cowboys/redskins blogs): Not to overemphasize a point, but I'm completely blown away by the number of guys not wearing sleeves. I get it when a skill player like a receiver or back doesn't want to in an effort to avoid slippage with the ball, but what about linebackers and linemen? And yeah, I'm pretty happy I'm in a well-heated apartment. --------- After watching that tackle, Charles Woodson would be wise to not go up high on Brandon Jacobs again unless he's interested in losing his lid at some point this evening.
  6. I think a nerve has been struck. Ahhhh....the sweet sounds of a bitter defeated team. I love it!!!!
  7. Chatter from the ESPN board: "Where would you rank that game compared to the other Conference Championship Games all time? Just wondering, because that was a great game." --------------- "I'd say Top 5" --------------- "Top 10 Top 5 only if your a Giants fan" --------------- "Here is my top 10 1. 1967- Packers 21 Cowboys 17 2. 1958- Colts 23 Giants 17 OT 3. 1981- 49ers 28 Cowboys 27 4. 2007- Colts 38 Patriots 34 5. 1987- Broncos 23 Browns 20 OT 6. 2008- Giants 23 Packers 20 7. 1991- Giants 15 49ers 13 8. 1999- Falcons 30 Vikings 27 OT 9. 1988- Broncos 38 Browns 33 10. 1996- Steelers 20 Colts 16" ----------------- "Since when does having a lousy kicker make a game better? If one of the earlier kicks would have gone threw, It would not have ranked high at all. The missed kicks made the team have to overcome more adversity. Congratulations to the Giants by the way". ----------------- "I would rank it as the best of all time, when you factor in that it was OT and the conditions. And that it was an upset. And it involved one of the best QBs of all time and one who seems to be ascending quite a bit. And it was at Lambeau. ...some big plays made despite the temperature. Lots of drama. Only one close (IMO) is the SF-DAL Montana to Clark game. I am not counting Pre Super Bowl games, though".
  8. Please add any other chatter of interest from other boards. Chatter from "da bears" board: "Did you see Woodson get laid out"? When a train is coming you get off the tracks. Brandon Jacobs is a wrecking ball. You could tell Woodson got hit hard because when the other fudge packers were helping him up he was like "I'm OK, I'm OK" ---------------- "Boy did Jacobs plow right over Woodson there. That is a message sender type of play." ---------------- "yea that had to hurt, he got lifted off his feet and had all 265 lbs of jacobs land on him. eli is making some good throws ---------------- "at least woodson got his body in front of him " ----------------- "Wow...That is the meaning of getting TRUCKED." ----------------- "Yeah it was funny!!" ------------------
  9. I've never heard of such a thing. Whatever it was, it wasn't particularly flattering.
  10. Coughlin's face looked like he covered it with vaseline or something. Maybe he watched "Striptease" and decided to be like Congressman David Dilbeck (Burt Reynolds) who covered his body with vaseline. Anyway....what was with his face???
  11. Plax raised his game to superstar status on this great night. Made Harris look like a girly man. Did anyone catch the announcer saying that "Plaxico Burress has been taunting the Packers bench whenever he's near the sidelines saying, 'he can't cover me...he can't cover me' ". Then in his postgame interview: Rachel Nichols said. "Congratulations on winning the NFC Championship! Who thought that you guys could pull this off?" A man of few words Plax simply said, "Us". How can anyone not love this team??? Well, ceptin Jones and the cowboys....and probably a lot of Packers fans.
  12. Thanks for sharing the vid....I will watch that over and over. As a Giants fan for 5 decades, it has to be one of the sweetest moments I'll ever remember!
  13. Yup...when Bradshaw shakes a defender...there's no telling how far he will go. And he never gives up trying to shake a tackle, even when he's got 3 guys trying to bring him down. I love that in him.
  14. Yeah...must we were typing at the same time! That was the nastiest hit I've seen Jacobs ever put on someone. Could've broken the guys neck!
  15. I'd like to see him more touches as well. I wonder how durable he is. He's pretty reckless with his body and he's not very big. Actually, the perfect compliment to Jacobs. Man....did you see the hit Jacobs put on the lineman (forgot his name) in the beginning of the game, bout took his friggin head off.
  16. Someone beat me to it, but I was going to say he reminds me of Meggett. A whole lotta heart and a high rev engine. He's damn fun to watch.
  17. I have to believe that it's heavy on Tiki's mind!
  18. If you're talking about the 4 "experts" in the Fox booth, then they are 1-11. Terry Bradshaw picked the Giants to beat GreenBay tonight. After the game though, all 4 went with New England. Funny....the Giants fans outside the booth were telling the guys to all pick New England. Jimmy Johnson brought it up and got a kick out of it. Giants fans thinks its good luck when everyone picks the other team to win. I'm still psyched....but gotta hit the sack! I still can't believe it though....my GIANTS are in the Superbowl!!!
  19. Wow oh wow oh wow oh wow....what a game. I think I'm going to throw up now from all the anxiety. CONGRATS GIANTS!!!!!!!!
  20. Too much goin on to cover everything but score is 20 - 20 going into the 4th...Giants ball on the 40. First half....Giants outplayed Packers. Buress has been on fire and torches Harris over and over. Second half....Packers playing better ball and it's anybody's game at this point. Hope that helps...
  21. I'm as giddy as a high school girl going to the prom after being asked by the school stud muffin. Man.....the anticipation is almost unbearable! Go Blue!!!!!
  22. The only time I get really nervous is when the "experts" pick the Giants to win. As long as the "experts" ignore the Giants and fawn over the Giants' opponents, I'm happy. The less expected out of the Giants seems to be just the right motivation for the team to "surprise" everyone.
  23. That was a really good video. Strahan is quite the character. Thanks for sharing.
  24. What a great deal for New York as well as for Tuck. I love his motor and I fully believe his best years are ahead of him. Good work by Reese who should also be commended for locking up Madison Hedgecock a few weeks ago.
  25. I beg to differ. You talk as if Steve Smith isn't a factor....or the special teams led by Zak DeOssie isn't a factor....or that Boss isn't blocking like a veteran and making catches when necessary, etc. Shockey didn't put this team where they are right now and neither did Toomer (who has played great of late, but was MIA during the regular season). And Buress made some critical plays when he had to, but he's played at less than 70% all year with nagging injuries. And we are just beginning to see the motor on the little guy Bradshaw. The point is....it wasn't the veterans that got us to where we are (ie., those with more than 6 years NFL experience), it was the kids. Even the vets have gotten a fire lit under them by the enthusiasm of the kids. To just blow that off like it was nothing sounds like someone with sour grapes over his haughty team getting knocked down to earth like yesterday's news. And agreed.....the eagles and skins could be better next year. The fact that 3 teams out of the 4 teams in the NFC East went to post-season play should show the world what a tough division it is.....and we know that the eagles aren't going to stay pat. As far as those who say, "we will be satisfied....", it is because the team has gone further than anyone ever gave them credit for. There was virtually no hype whatsoever over the Giants by any beat writer....all the hype was about the cowboys....and of course, we know they're going to be eating popcorn and watching the Gints continue their run on television from the comfort of their homes...but I digress. Your attitude that Giants fans shouldn't be proud of the team unless they win the superbowl is bullshit. We love our team and always will.....and it isn't because of some nifty little marketing campaign calling us "America's Team" that we love our team. As much as we love our team though, we've certainly had moments when they disappointed us. But this year, there is no way they can disappoint us. But I'm sure you know quite a bit about disappointment don't you?
