You might have great insurance but it's not a dedicated 24 hour medical team tasked with getting a multimillion dollar asset back on the field. They're not resting him until he feels better, they're playing him as soon as they can shoot him full of enough cortisone that he can turn his head to see the field.
The injury has to be pretty damn serious for him to have missed more than a game or two. Not just nagging tightness.
