  1. yeah, it sounds like a side effect of rugby tackling technique.... but I think that's safer, it takes the head out of the tackle. So guess its head in front and drive the hips or nothing? Oh, but don't forget not to lower the helmet, that's a penalty too. Not even remotely a fan of this rule change. I think it will be a mistake, it's going to encourage head on head collisions.
  2. oh wow, that's actually a really good idea. I presume there will be special rules for on side attempts too.
  3. ooookay..... why? Horse collar tackle, okay, ban that, makes sense. But.... using your weight to pull down the opposing player. That's tackling, isn't it?
  4. hey, Bavaro was an always injured tight end, and he was awesome!
  5. I'm shocked Peart was offered a contract. He's earned camp-body-at-most status. His effort level last time he saw the field was unacceptable. Holmes, cool, he's an NFL player. He'd be a better NFL player if the medical staff would amputate his fingers, so he couldn't grab jersey anymore.
  6. LOL! don't count on it, kiddo. Saquon won't be running behind Kelce.
  7. people keep saying that after this McCarthy visit, but I'm not sure that's true. My understanding is that it isn't uncommon for team A to have a visit with prospect B on behalf of team C, while team C has a visit with prospect D on behalf of team A.
  8. I wouldn’t be mad at a trade back to later in the first, then pick McCarthy. I think. It’s a based on shit I’ve read opinion, don’t feel like I’ve seen enough of him to judge.
  9. heh, after the stink the Eagles raised over losing Gannon, I really hope they get fucked on this.
  10. I think its the former, not the latter. And before we panic, there's a lot of room between 'Lock will have the opportunity to compete' and 'Lock is the week 1 starter'.
  11. damn it. you're going to make me learn how to use PFR, aren't you.
  12. I did too, until he started showing his ass. And he was mostly ass.
  13. oh wow, I did watch a bunch of OSU this year, so I'm up on MHJ's film ---- he doesn't have the route running nuance of Nabers, and he's twice as likely to drop the ball from what I've seen ---- but I had no idea he was so tall. No pun intended, but that's huge.
  14. bro don't make me do actual research. I'm just talking shit. off the top of my head though, thats when we get into the Kenny Holmes level guys. Good players, generally. But not the kind of comp you want to see when you're talking giving up prime draft picks and $30 million per year.
  15. I was hoping hard he'd go to Houston so I could keep on routing for the guy. Oh well.
  16. lol, because like I just said, Lock is capable of attempting a pass inside the ten yard line. Jones' inability to recognize small throwing windows is, in my view, his most damning trait as a QB. To be clear --- I don't think its likely Lock beats out Jones. I think the whole lot of them are a rock-paper-scissors triumvirate of mediocrity, and given that Jones has played a lot already, I could see the staff going with a guy who isn't the obvious best player in practice but has the chance to develop further.
  17. I think Nabers is going to be the WR1 in this class. Might be the third off the board, but he'll be the best pro.
  18. The 29th ranked OL or 32nd ranked OL or whatever level of crap the Giants had, had nothing to do with Barkley getting caught from behind every time he got behind the defense. He's lost two steps. I don't think he's washed, but he's not the same guy the Giants drafted in 2018.
  19. lol, they really had to massage the numbers to come up with this list. Make the cutoff 7 sacks and there are some kind of scrubby guys on the list. Make the cutoff 8 sacks and Burns isn't on it.
  20. I'm not directly familiar with Bowers yet, but in the multiple reviews I've read the thing that keeps coming up is 'equally good blocker as receiver, and he's a great receiver'. For whatever that's worth.
  21. well hot damn, this dude went from off the radar to immediate fan favorite.
  22. Me too. And I'm equally unsure Jones beats out Lock. Because at least Lock has the stones to attempt a pass inside the ten yard line. This is the most meh QB room the Giants have had since just before Kerry Collins arrived.
  23. saccharine seems really sweet but might cause cancer. Just like Russ.
