Ditto. I'm not answering any reported threads, I'm not entertaining any thoughts of banning, suspensions or "punishment" of anyone. Everyone here is an adult, duke it out. You think this place sucks and don't want to post here anymore, more power to you. You'll be missed, but this is a free country, do what you want. Report me as a shitty mod, I really don't care, I'm not getting in the middle of this.

    lol :TU:

I'm just catching up on what I've missed :barman:

  2. Raiders must have given a sweet deal to make the move and I wish him well.  I hope he continues to build on the success he has achieved so far in the NFL and I look forward to seeing him become a head coach.

They should of just stick with the Washington football team.

I agree it looked like a was a way of both giving critics what they wanted while sticking it to them.

  4. Much ado about nothing.  When Brian Flores came up as a possible candidate for the NY Giants HC position one of the points made about his problems with building relationships, and then he does this.  Doesn't appear that he has learned from his mistakes by accusing others of not handing him the job but just offering it to him.

I understand the purpose of the Rooney rule and I still think it is a good rule and it has led to more minority hiring in the NFL.  Before the Rooney rule, coaches were hired  minutes after the last guy was fired.  Owners simply never gave opportunities to other people because they had already decided that they wanted that one person.  Now they have to interview people and I believe it has also opened their eyes to what they have been missing for decades.

We can speculate who were the other top 2 candidates on the Giants list for years or why the Giants had so many defense minded head coaches on their list when the offense has been abysmal the last two seasons because of coaching.

Keep in mind the players that Graham is playing with are all bit gone.

Not to mention a shift in scheme, Buffalo ran a 4-3 base.

I'd assume Daboll goes with what he's seen.

I doubt he is going to want to change a scheme that has been working just for the sake of changing it to what he is used to.  Nobody knows who the Giants are going to cut, trade or sign this offseason and that will take shape over the coming weeks.

  6. Had a feeling they were going to go with Daboll overall and this is all about Daniel Jones right now.  Now if I was Brian Daboll I would have called Patrick Graham about 5 minutes later and have Schoen call him this morning about staying with the team.  I don't think Patrick Graham is ready for the step up to head coach and the jobs he has been offered so far are lateral moves.  Graham has some good things going here and he should continue to build on it.

  7. See now this is the right attitude, not some whiny hand rubbing "You need to fire this guy for me to consider taking the job or your cap situation makes this job impossible for me to consider, etc.

The Giants conducted their second round of general manager interviews in person after using videoconferencing for the first round.

When it was time to bring in Joe Schoen for his second interview, Big Blue and co-owner John Mara experienced a slight hurdle.

The team could only get the Bills assistant GM a middle seat on a flight to New York, in the last row of the plane next to the restroom.

When Schoen arrived at Newark Airport and didn’t express any complaints about his trip from Buffalo, Mara knew he might have found his man to lead the Giants out of their current five-year darkness.

“He never complained about it a bit,” Mara said. “So I like him already.”

As for Schoen, there was no reason to complain. He was taking a short flight to a potential promotion that would give him the opportunity to restore a once-proud franchise within the biggest sports market in the country.

“I’m going to interview for the Giants general manager,” Schoen said. “I’ll ride on the wing if you need me to.

“That’s not me. I roll up my sleeves, put me wherever you want to put me, I’m going to interview for the New York Giants, I’ll ride on the wing if you need me to. I didn’t care where they put me, that’s not me. I’ll sit wherever.”

Schoen was used to a private jet during his time with the Bills thanks to team owners Terry and Kim Pegula, and while Giants ownership has a private jet of his own, it was not available on short notice to bring out Schoen to East Rutherford. So, Mara kept it blunt with Schoen, and one potentially uncomfortable flight later, the Giants had their next general manager.

“John told me, ‘Our private jet around here is called JetBlue,’” Schoen laughed.

  8. "It's really just about progress," Schoen said. "We need to see progress, we need to see the team getting better, we need to see competition, we need to see the offense get better, we need to see the defense get better. We want to see progress throughout the entire football operation is what we're looking for. We're not going to make any playoff statements or anything like that. We just want to see progress and see that we're building to something in the future and we're going to build the foundation as soon as we can."

😂 well the beat down we’ve taken since 2012 will do that.

It also sucks to break your own stuff year after year.  How many times do you have to throw your remote at your own tv smashing one or both in the process.

  10. I would have taken the job just to fire Joe Judge then quit.

I'm not firing you for your record, you are getting fired for running two QB sneaks from inside the five yard line.  Have to build a new stadium to erase that stain on the honor of this organization.  As every former head coach of the NY Giants who has been fired will tell you, you will never be a head coach in the NFL.  I called every former Giant prior to calling you in and they are waiting outside to kick your ass.  :giants:

  11. Going to try a new approach around here:

First I will borrow from Steve Harvey

    Failure is a great teacher

We have been failing  A LOT.

Next I will post a picture of Steve Harvey's daughter

Now that everyone is paying attention let us see what Mara & Tisch have learned from this experience and how they will apply it.  I realize things just look so bad the only way to fix it is fire everyone and start from scratch.  Because everyone contributed to this disaster and unless we get rid of everyone it will happen again.  I think there are some good players we can continue to build around and the Giants have to rely entirely on this draft to support them.  Once the Giants hire the next General Manager, his first job might be to fire Joe Judge.  Right now I'm just patiently waiting for the news conference of John Mara introducing the next GM and let us see where it goes from there.

  12. I think keeping Judge was the right decision even if it is hard for the fans right now.  Now if Judge continues to lose, he gets fired next year and we'll be in the top 5 again and have an opportunity to bring in a head coach who can pick his QB.  The team will be in a better place as far as the cap as well.

  13. In regards to the blowing it all up ideas:  Which team in NFL history has done a complete rebuild successfully?  What is the timeframe on that as well because the fan base so far is two years.  You cannot fire ownership, so scratch that dumb idea.

That leaves Football Operations and coaches.  Gettleman created new positions, brought in people, fired others.  Judge brought in new coaches, created new positions and retained coaches from Shurmur.

Players:  Are we keeping players based on how much they are not getting paid, are getting paid, which round we drafted them in, production?

Giants first need a General Manager who then helps select the Head Coach who decides on his staff and the roster.  Or just find a head coach and give him complete authority?  Do you give that command & authority to anyone willing to take the job or someone with experience.

  14. I can live with Joe Judge another season and also willing to give Kevin Abrams a chance as well.  He has been running our cap numbers for years and has to navigate this next season delicately.  Simply this is not the best time to bring in a new GM, HC,  blow up the roster and start new.  To force the issue now is an emotional response and makes no business sense.

Giants can't possibly cut/trade enough players to come in under the cap and sign a better team through free agency then give that roster to a new head coach and then tell that Head Coach and General Manager they now have two years to make it work while having no chance in hell their first.  Every GM and HC now comes in already burdened with the last decade of disappointment.

  15. Another season of NY Giants football has come to an end and yet again we have lost more games than won. Where the organization goes from here depends on Mara & Tisch.  Watching the postgame presser with Joe Judge I noticed that he wasn't up there with tears welling up in his eyes getting all emotional like his predecessor.  Judge was still fighting and his team was fighting though perhaps in vain.

Media has been loud and clear on Gettleman being gone at the end of the season and history has shown when the media hears something about the Giants they shouldn't know, most likely true.  Now we know that missing on a QB can set a team back years.  They are learning that missing on your head coach is worst.  Now when you miss on you General Manager...you need a new approach.  That is a decision once again for John Mara & Steve Tisch.  Everyone has advice for them on what to do next and none of them have ever been in the position Mara & Tisch are in now.  If Abrams is the next GM then he has to against all odds make the 2022 season an overwhelming success.

I wonder where would the team be under Judge if he didn't have Jason Garrett as part of the staff.  Early on it was clear Marc Colombo was a mistake and bringing in Mike Glennon over bringing back Colt McCoy was another mistake.  Giants offense under Jason Garrett regressed decades bringing back production totals last seen in the 1950s.

There were questions going into the year if Daniel Jones is the franchise QB.  Now we are left with will he play again in the NFL.  Pretty clear to me it was his talent and desire to win that kept the offense going.

Hope the Giants don't trade away the hard gained two first round picks in the draft for a band aid fix in a veteran QB.  This team isn't one player away from the playoffs.

It’s wild how different people can see completely different things like that.

You know what they say about opinions so I'm not surprised.  Do you think he is a terrible swing tackle?
