  1. We did however prove that our tackle tandem of Diehl and McKenzie, will be left to fend for themselves and receive no help for 4 quarters.
  2. For a guy who got the lionshare of the carries against the Colts (4), we have determined him to be the primary reason for our loss against the Colts. Signed,
  3. That might have worked had they simply decided to keep the defensive line standard, but they didn't. Horrible game from a coaching standpoint.
  4. The standards of special has dropped considerably. Now everyone is special because they were drafted on the second day.
  5. Well, Coughlin attempted to clean up the situation. According to New York Daily News' Ralph Vacchiano, Coughlin dodged a question about confronting Jacobs directly about becoming second string. Jacobs' truth is the coaches never told him anything. Coughlin responded, “I’m not sure of all of that.” That little bit right there pretty much says it all. Coughlin didn't sit down and let Jacobs know that Bradshaw would be the starter this season. Maybe Coughlin wanted Gilbride to do it or Jerald Ingram to do it. Should Coughlin sitdown with his players and let them know why? Absolutely.
  6. eh, won't get in. Only one Giant per generation.
  7. If we applied the same formula to linebackers as we do to the defensive line, we'd have one linebacker playing till the draft next year when everyone waits expectantly and equally disappointed with the next pick at linebacker. I'd put Dodge in as a backup linebacker at this point since he shares the same "intangibles" as the rest of the linebacker core. Doesn't matter who makes in that group, just realize they take the roster space of a better player at another position.
  8. Gotta do the smart thing and pick him up.
  9. The bench just got a little bit colder
  10. They won't cut him less some other team picks him up and he becomes the super star WR Uncle Ernie saw that nobody else did.
  11. I stopped picking roster cuts a few years ago. Players that should have been cut just stick around to sit on the bench, while players who have shown more in preseason get cut. We've been fortunate in recent years that those players don't turn into great starters elsewhere but its going to happen. Just hope that this time around the team keeps the better blockers over the better receivers because what winds up happening is the better receiver don't contribute and we suffer from lack of better blocking like last year.
  12. Sounds like he's gonna be backup this season or just out altogether at this point.
  13. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP)—Shaun O’Hara(notes) has always prided himself on his toughness. But the pain that has spread around the Giants’ starting center’s left ankle from Achilles’ tendinitis has finally ended his preseason. After watching O’Hara battle through the pain from the start of training camp, doctors put the foot in a hard cast Thursday. Starting left guard Rich Seubert(notes) took O’Hara’s first-string practice snaps, and will start the team’s third preseason game Saturday in Baltimore. “It’s just something I’ve been dealing with pretty much all through camp,” O’Hara said. “I’ve had some good days and I’ve had some bad days. It’s been something we’ve been kind of coping with and working through. It’s reached the point where we decided we need to just try to isolate it and give it some complete and total rest.” O’Hara said he hoped this would enable him to start the regular season opener Sept. 12 against Carolina. But the reality is that the 11th-year veteran will have to deal with his condition throughout the season. Now tagged as his primary backup, Seubert will have to anticipate moving over a spot on a regular basis, even though he’s rarely played center in games. Seubert did work a two-minute drill at center against Carolina in 2006, and has had some situational appearances at tight end. But he has built the vast majority of his resume at guard. “Whatever they want me to do,” said Seubert, heading into his 10th season. “I’ve played center in practice ever since rookie year. I’ve always taken snaps. In this business, the more you can do the better off you’ll be. I feel comfortable at center.” O’Hara’s injury actually presents an additional opportunity for Seubert to stay on the field. His starting job was believed endangered due to the battle at left tackle which starter David Diehl(notes) and second-year challenger Will Beatty are waging. Also, since the signing of former Eagles Pro Bowl guard Shawn Andrews(notes) last week, Seubert’s starting status has never been more tenuous. But O’Hara’s potentially chronic condition has put Seubert on call. Fourth-year player Adam Koets(notes) took most of the center snaps last week, but currently stands third on the depth chart. “You always have to be ready to play,” Seubert said. “We take our quarterback-center exchange and footwork seriously every day. That’s our job, to be ready. “If you’re a guard, you might have to play center. We only dress seven guys for a game, so wherever you’re playing, you’d better have a couple of backups at center because what if two guys go down? You’ve got to know what everybody’s doing, so mindset-wise, you take the same mindset every week.” Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Seubert will take the first 20 to 25 snaps, with Koets following him in. The rest of the starters, including quarterback Eli Manning(notes), are scheduled to play three quarters. Manning is making his return from the 12-stitch, Jets-inflicted gash that sidelined him for last week’s game against Pittsburgh. O’Hara just hopes the rest works. “We’ve been riding that roller coaster up and down of feeling good and then feeling bad,” O’Hara said. “Rather than risk doing that the entire season, if we can calm everything down and make significant improvement for the next two days, then hopefully it’s an afterthought once we get to Week 2.” Notes: S Sha’reff Rashad(notes) returned to practice after missing time because of a concussion. … DT Jay Alford(notes) missed practice because of pain and swelling in his surgically-repaired left knee, but said he expects to play Saturday in Baltimore. … CB Terrell Thomas(notes) (calf) is doubtful. WR Sinorice Moss(notes) (groin) was declared out.
  14. So you are in the belief that Eli has peaked? I thought this was about the face of the team not guys who have peaked because if they have, well its not a very good sign. I'm always looking for new peaks. Eli is in his prime, Tuck is in his prime. They are both good candidates however this team was built on defense and for many more years to come this will be the case. Justin Fuckin Tuck AKA Jason Tuck as he is fondly known as by everyone who doesn't cover our Giants except when absolutely required by contract obligation.
  15. Wow, the NYG team is now defined by an offensive player.... Might I suggest you become Cowboy fans. Justin Fuckin Tuck all the way.
  16. So the verdict is in, we are not confident in the guys we have in camp. Shawn Andrews has a list of problems which is why he got cut. People questioned Chad Jones and his desire to play football. Shawn Andrews has questioned his own will to play football and wanted to sing. Back problems just don't go away. Isn't Grey Ruegamer available since he got cut from Seattle? Only hopeful sign is they went and picked a free agent instead of giving up a draft pick for a linemen from somewhere else. They might regret that if Seubert, O'Hara and Snee are down a significant part of the season.
  17. Not many punters can lined drive it into a specific spot. Once that ball goes out of bounds it is automatically the opposing side's ball. You don't give your guys a chance to get over there and make a play. Then there is the other function of taking time off the clock. With that being said, I agree I'd much rather have a long kick to the sideline then try for the rare chance our guys get there, make a play and recover the ball.
  18. Well shit post up Jonas Seawright while you're at it, Michael Jennings is far from the first person all the fanboys fell in love with.
  19. If Victor Cruz can repeat his performance the rest of the preseason, I'd say he has a pretty good chance at sticking. He's already shown more than Moss has in his time with the team. That being said, I'd be shocked if Moss gets cut over Cruz. The team is still more in love with their second round draft pick than I think is warranted. Maybe they are thinking he is going to turn into Santana.
  20. Wouldn't mind taking him back either. You can set an egg timer to how long DJ Ware is going to be healthy.
  21. Shit man Chase Blackburn hurt his knee. There goes the season.
  22. I think Hagan has been a much better player than Moss has. I don't buy into Hagan becoming a mainstay on our WR core. Just wish the Giants had cut Moss last year instead of keeping him around to do nothing again this year.
  23. Nas you pointed out that this past draft class was weak as far as linebackers and I agree. Dillard looks a lot like every other linebacker we've drafted, good backup for our guy who would be a backup elsewhere. When you take a DE and turn him into a linebacker, he is usually horrible in coverage. Goff played to expectations. Cross your fingers for a dramatic improvement. Pretty sure they go value pick by position and rate linebackers at the bottom, just above punter and fullback.
  24. Hmm, 33 years old and coming back from an injury. Yeah he's going to be our starter this year. If it was any other team you can argue they brought him in to compete with the rookies, but we know better. He was brought in to start and I can't think of a single player at the moment who was hurt the previous season then came back and had a great season the next. Giants seem to use a different system entirely when drafting linebackers. I think they should be open to using another system for drafting them, one that might work and help them find a significant talent at linebacker. A fortune teller reading chicken bones could have picked one by now. That octopus in Germany that picked the world cup teams should be consulting next year for the draft.
