  1. And even when he finally does give up the play calling, instead of saying, "it was time to try something different" or words to that effect, he comes up with the self serving bullshit, "the whole locker room needed me this week". Yeah, needed you to wise the f*ck up.
  2. I have a hunch the DRC matter is just the tip of the iceberg in that locker room. You don't get to the point of walking out without a build up. Yes, being misused and I'm sure he feels, disrespected by giving Apple his position is part of it.......but an environment of discontentment with the coach lays the groundwork for for such action. If he felt like he was the only one who had an issue with Macadoo, I doubt he would have acted out. I think he knew there are a lot of guys in that room who agree with him and have his back.
  3. Exactly. And their OL is about as bad as ours. At best, this guy is a better brand of lousy and more likely, he's no better than what we have now.
  4. Rote was a split end. Aaron Thomas and Joe Walton were the TEs. And Homer Jones came a year after YA left, I think. Another guy who deserves mention is Joe Morrison, who was an early version of a swiss army knife. YA was the second Giant QB I saw play in Yankee Stadium, after Charlie Conerly. An old, bald guy by the time he arrived in NY, he was smooth and always seemed in control. He was an absolute master at the screen pass, looking downfield, backpedaling and you'd swear he was in trouble.out in the flat. ...then flipping the ball to a guy he hadn't even glanced at, all alone. My father, who started going to Giant games in the Polo Grounds, in the 40s, always said the game that haunted and tortured him more than any other through all those years was the 14-10 loss to the Bears in the 1963 Championship Game. "We were the better team but YA got hurt", he'd lament. I was 12 but I remember it too well, myself.
  5. After a decent rookie year, Apple has regressed....or maybe he's just being given more responsibility than last year and it's exposing his limitations.
  6. Perkins wasn't active. Only thing I could think with Vereen in at the end was that he's practiced more with the two minute offense. But I was also saying WTF???
  7. Yeah, I thought Bennett was a keeper, too.....but he underwhelmed, just as he's now doing in Green Bay. Someone on the GB-Cincy telecast Sunday said he's heard whispering that the Packers wish he'd pick things up a little quicker. For a guy who seems to have as much size and talent as he does, funny that he's on his third team in three years.
  8. Truly amazing how many ways we can beat ourselves. This is an undisciplined, poorly - sloppily - coached team.
  9. You can tell what we're going to run by the formation....and it was NEVER so clear, so f*cking plain, as that last futile play. This f*cking guy has got to f*cking go.
  10. How many stupid f*cking mistakes can we make today???
  11. That horrible fucking 3rd down call changed the whole tenor of the game.
  12. The last year - 2013 - was bad - very bad. Looked like a combination of the league figuring us out and (once again) pass protection breaking down....and yes, Gilbride tried to go deep too often, given they couldn't protect Eli - though every....single.....time is an exaggeration, as is that he was bad the last four years here. In 2012, Giants scored 429 points, 6th in the NFL......in 2011, they scored 397, 9th in the NFL (while allowing 400 and oh yeah, winning a Super Bowl).......in 2010, 394 points, 7th in NFL. So 3 of the last 4 years, they were in the top 10 in points scored. What I'd give for that right now!!!! Of course, I had to look all this up - I;m lucky if I remember last week's final score! But when I read "sucked last four years", I had to check. Your proclamation had a germ of accuracy, along with a healthy dose of hyperbole!
  13. Agree with both of you....but this franchise is always patient and slow to pull the trigger on replacing a coach or GM, which I have always applauded for the sake of stability. In this case however, I hope they break character and give him the quick hook.
  14. I'm searching all over Amazon, Ebay, Craigslist.....can't seem to find "mauling O-line and power running game" anywhere!
  15. Well, hell, you only watch the Giants if they're winning, so not surprised you don't see the Lions much !
  16. Beg to differ! Ebron's problem has been staying healthy. When not hurt, he's been pretty good - over 700 yards in 13 games last year and the Lions have already picked up his 5th year option for 2018. Doesn't sound like they think he's a bust. I will give you that he hasn't put up big numbers, because he's hurt too damn often but the guy has talent.
  17. Depends on the defensive call. Sometimes the LB drops into coverage......and when there are only two on the field, which is often the case, there isn't really a "Middle". Other times, a RB is his responsibility, either stopping the run or covering out of the backfield. If he's "spying" the QB, then yes, he has to contain the scramble.....but I don't think that was the case on most of those Stafford runs Monday night. I think our front four lost contain a few times.
  18. First, Ebron is a pretty good TE, second, the SS usually covers the TE.
  19. I'm not sure it will make much difference. Can't hurt, of course....but hard to believe there's any quick fix here.
  20. Yes! I was sure we had him a few times and he was like Houdini, getting out of there! As a great coach used to emphasize, FINISH!!!
  21. I haven't wanted a Giant coach gone this fast since Handley. It's gonna be a long season.
  22. I was super excited when we signed Marshall. Now I'm super disappointed. Looks like the only reason he came here was to be close to his NYC based TV show and other media opportunities. Football is just another paycheck and an afterthought.
