Yeah my qualm is not with the L but with how poor Webb looked. Again its only one preseason game though, and game 1 at that. Cant over analyze or extrapolate too much. I did notice that unlike Eli, who when he makes mistakes just shrugs and makes a stupid face, Webb seemed much more emotional in his reactions.

How so? His completion % and more importantly yards per attempt were lower than Darnold and Rosen in their final college year. Yards per attempt is your best friend when evaluating QB stats. How well do they move the ball. Turnover ratios are key too.

Webb looked like complete garbage last night. I'm not writing him off yet, but yesterday he was awful.

I hope Thompson or Andrew Adams can step up. Adams was fine in 2016; Im not sure why he was relegated in 2017. Landon also seemed a bit off in 2017, from a coverage perspective. We need more of his 2016 performance as well.

I thought Jones was an upgrade over Richburg, when he replaced Richburg last year...so if Halapio is beating out Jones, that seems to be a further upgrade to me. Sidenote: I can't believe the 49ers gave Richburg a 48 million dollar contract.

Yeah, on paper, I don't recall ever having a better set of skill position players at every skill position than we do now (WR, RB, TE). You might argue WR is thin once you get past ODB and Sterlinh Shepherd, but considering the passing threat posed by Engram and Barkley, along with the potential for Latimer or Russel Shepard to step up, I think this argument is nitpicking at best. Realistically, you would expect ODB, Shep, and Engram to have at least ~60-70 catches each, and if Barkley has around 50-60 himself, there's not many touches leftover for a 3rd WR; maybe 20-30?
