  1. Some people were saying we should keep our own players away from him......hes capable of injuring anyone on the field......the guy is a freak of nature

I would not wan to get leg whipped by JPP

Blame him no........steer clear of him in motion.......absolutely

Honestly during the draft I was (one of) the most critical on this board about the JPP pick and I know for a fact no one has ever said this about him.

  2. Are you drinking? I don't care if every damn coach in the NFL does it (they don't)... it doesn't mean I have to agree with it. Sorry if I'm tired of losing critical players for the season in meaningless games.

And the horsepoo about them needing to get into game shape at this point is exactly that, horsepoo. We're talking vets here. As I said, there is no good rationalization for it.

A player gets hurt in the preseaon all you hear is "HURRR DURRR WE DONT NEED A PRESEASON!!!!!"

A player gets hurt in the beginning of the regular season "DUUURRRR WE SHOULD HAVE MORE PRESEASON GAMES SO THEY CAN GET READY!!!!"

    It happens every season.

  3. I cannot fathom why the Giants play these inbreds every frickin preseason. it's the stepchildrens SuperBowl every year and we always get injuries out of it. honestly, i'd rather see the Giants forfeit the game and play a 2 hand touch intra squad scrimmage.

With the luck the Giants have, Eli will tear every muscle in his shoulder, Bradshaw will tear both knee ligaments and Tuck will break something in a touch game.

  4. it seems like gruden loves eli.

Yeah Gruden has a thing for Eli, ever since that playoff win in '07.

I recall a broadcast last season were Gruden went on and on about how Eli controlled that playoff game against Tampa and how he watched him mature to a SB MVP in that very game.

Chucky is a well addition to the broadcast booth, hope he never leaves.

  5. This is what saddens me about the NFL now a days, the lack of any sort of loyalty.

You rarely see a player spend his entire career with the team that drafted him unless he is pro-bowler or a perennial HoFer. I know it's a two way street that players leave teams all the time for big deals, looking for the money but at the same time you see it alot of times when teams let players go mainly because it's a good "business choice"

Would of loved to Seubert retire in Blue, same with O'hara.

  6. You know.. having loyalty to a team that drafted you.. a team like the Giants that's regarded as one of the best organizations in the NFL.. having loyalty means something... in that sense alone.. he fucked up.. and fucked himself up in the process. He went to an Eagles team that will be in cap hell next season.. he's not ready to play.. even if he feels he is.. but oh well. I like our chances against anyone.

You know loyalty had been dead in the NFL for the last 20 years right?

  7. I'd take Tom over Eli in a heartbeat, at any stage in their respective careers. Eli didn't beat Tom, Mike & Co beat Tom.

That said I think Eli's comment has been taken out of it's intended context:

"I consider myself in that class," Manning said. "Tom Brady is a great quarterback, he's a great player, and what you've seen with him is he's gotten better every year, and he started off winning championships, and I think he's a better quarterback now than what he was, in all honesty, when he was winning those championships."

I think he's trying to say that, like Brady, Ei feels he's a better QB post-SB and still improving. I don't think he intended it to mean he's equal to Tom, though it's a pretty garbled response.

Plus I mean what else is Eli going to say in that situation? "Oh Yeah I'm a horrible QB compared to Tom Brady, he's A tier I'm more of a B- tier QB"

Obviously Eli is going to say he's in the same class as Brady, you gotta admire the confidence.

It's the same thing as during the SB when Plax was asked "What is the score going to be for the game" Obviously Plax is going to give the winning favor to the Giants.

It's just the press putting players into a position where if they answer, they stir something up, if they dont answer they still stir something up. In this case when Eli said he thinks he's in the same class they can go on for acouple days about it, but is he said it wasnt then the press could go on about how Eli doesnt have confidence.

It's just the press being the press.

  8. maybe he's was not talking about Tom Brady past.....but he and Tom's future.....sure Tom in his prime was better.

Tom is not improving despite what Eli kindly said, he's peaked and its all down hill from here

Eli can improve, will improve and unlike in the past where Brady had a better supporting cast, Eli now has the premier crew around him

2 young 1000 yd rushers, 2 young 1000 yd WRs

He has three SBs, two time SB MVP, multiple pro-bowls, two time NFL MVP, was a part of a perfect (regular) season and is a sure fire first ballot HoF QB.

Honestly what more can he improve on?

  9. hmmmm he should have returned his salary

We have Lawrence Tynes ..........a guy you have to turn your head away every time he attempts a PAT......I actually cringe in fear each time Tynes lines up for a PAT

    See this is Jack logic.

I never once said Tynes was better but he goes on a hissy fit of "Hurr durp you proved me wrong so I'm gonna avoid the argument entirely"

This is why no one on here takes you seriously Jack, you are proven wrong time after time yet you always try to cover up by changing the subject entirely.

Is Tynes a good kicker? No, I never said that even though you had to bring him into the discussion, why?

Is Carney the answer? Fuck no he's retired and out of football, plus since leaving the Giants he's kicking game has gone to hell 18 for 23 in two years, or 73%.

  10. you are remembering wrong my friend......there was a huge uproar that Carney was going to kick it to the ten

his kicks were inside the 5 often inside the goal line

he would not have made the Pro Bowl picked by his peers if he could not kick off adequately

    Once again Jack is delusional.

Here are the kick off stats for the 2008 season. Link

Carney was ranked 43 out of all the kickers in average kickoff yards with only three touch backs the entire season. Out of the 79 kickoffs that Carney made, 73 were returned with the average of them making 21 yards.

The reason Carney made the pro-bowl wasnt his kick off ability in fact he was in the bottom half of the league in terms of kick offs, he made the pro bowl because he made 35 out of 39 kicks, with the highest field goal kicking percentage in the league.

  11. I think of Steve Smith like I would Wes Welker.

Sure there are alot more WRs in the league better then Welker but at the end of the day Tom Brady throws to him more then any other WR on the team.

Steve Smith might not have been our best WR but he was the only WR who Eli has felt comfortable with so far. I say so far because I hope Nicks becomes that new security blanket for Eli like Smith was.
